Pure art

We have gone several times to the corral of the morería, and luckily this time Eduardo Guerrero was performing; what an amazing artist! It is the best we have seen in years. The night was unbeatable.

Lovely evening…entertainment and food were both excellent

I had read this was the best flamenco in Madrid, in addition to having a good quality meal. Having been to tango in Argentina, I was a little leery about the food hype. I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of the food served. To clarify…you can have a “gourmet dinner (3 options/3 prices), drinks are additional. People either come at 5:30 or 6 pm, the show starts at 7:30. The service did pretty much take up the two hours. Our seats were quite good, about 5 tables back from the stage. Just turn your seats slightly to face the stage during the show. The performers were all excellent, one guitarist, 3 singers and 3 dancers. The female dancer seemed trained in ballet, but was amazing with her castanets. The two male dancers also had their individual styles. The guitarist was amazing. In speaking with someone, they said this is more “modern” flamenco, especially for the woman, who wore a shorter dress. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Not sure what the naysayers saw, but I thought it was terrific. Know that it is not an inexpensive evening, but the entertainment and food were both very good.

Beautiful

Amazing experience at Corral de la Morería. The service was outstanding attentive, professional, and very welcoming throughout the evening. The pigeon dish was absolutely exceptional, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. A beautiful combination of fine dining and authentic atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Dinner and show

I made reservations in their website. The flamenco show is good. Place is too small for so many people. We were so close to the other tables that it was hard to move. There was a wood Pilar almost in front of me so I couldn’t enjoy the show as I wanted. The food is ok. Service is exellent.

Slightly disappointed

We booked the dinner and show because how could you go wrong with a Michelin rated venue? Not what I expected. The food was just average with the standouts being the Salmon and the potato and leek soup. Everything else was a bit salty and Meh. The show left me with mixed feelings. The female performers were elegant and emotive in dancing and singing. I could feel the beauty of their performance. The male dancer was repetitive in each of his vignettes, focusing on emphatic steps (way too much) and ending with the same demonstration of just how fast he could dance in one position. It was impressive, but so repetitive that I was no longer impressed and couldn’t wait for it to be over by the time of the third performance. There was very little expression in his dance style, and it seemed to focus more on portraying the macho image of the male flamenco dancer. I expected at least one vignette to include both the male and female dancer in concert, but it did not. They did not play off of each other or perform together in any way of note except for a brief time in the very beginning, and it was truly disappointing.
