Cook Authentic Czech with Grandma’s Recipes

Description
We are Aida & Bret from Good Mood Food. Authentic, hands-on cooking is what we’re all about — we speak the language of food! We believe food is a perfect way to communicate and connect. It’s a powerful tool to discover people and culture, because food brings us together. Our experiences are guided in a friendly, authentic, and entertaining way. We always cook together, share stories, and talk about rituals and traditions. For us, food is not just a biological need — it’s a cultural and social one. We'll cook in our self-designed Good Food Atelier, located in a 400-year-old building. The kitchen is simply equipped, just like in our own homes — so no need to worry about fancy gadgets that are hard to find when recreating the recipes later. Together, we’ll prepare and cook full traditional Czech menu: a soup or appetizer, a main course with a side dish, and a dessert. You’ll also taste our homemade pickled vegetables and marmalades. Water, tea, coffee, and wine are all included.

Fantastic experience cooking and experiencing traditional Czech dishes! Brett was an excellent host and introduced us to local spirits, wine and flavor combinations that are not common in the USA. In particular the potato/sourkraut pancakes with local cheese and charcuterie, jams etc. were a delight. We had a bit of a local history lesson as well and they were able to accommodate my wife's celiac/gluten free needs. Highly recommend for any visitors looking for a great cooking experience!
We had an amazing experience cooking with Brad! He was so friendly and fun! The food was amazing! Our class was just me and my mom, so we had him all to ourselves. The recipes were authentic, fairly easy, and absolutely delicious! I would highly highly recommend this class! I can’t think of one negative thing about it.
What an absolute pleasure! Brett was fantastic. He really gave us wonderful opportunities to learn his family recipes. We got to work every step of the way through the process. It was such a joy. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to learn more about the check culture.
Bret led a wonderful cooking experience for four students total: my wife and me and one other couple. We made potato pancakes, roast duck with cabbage, bread dumplings, and kremroles. He also provided wine, cheese, bread, meats, and jams while we cooked. The class was hands-on, but not too intimidating for beginners like me. We left full of Czech food and Czech culture and history.
This was an amazing experience, and some of the best food in Prague! Come hungry!
Come prepared to eat and enjoy. The menu choices were lovely and easy to prepare. Very accommodating in regards to food allergies or needs. The location was a bit tricky to find. The doorbell is on the right side of a locked alleyway car door. I ended up calling and they sent someone to meet me.
FANTASTIC!❤️ By far the best meal we had in all of Prague .Aida made us feel like we were family and friends visiting for dinner. There were six of us and she made sure all of us had a chance to do the cooking. As it was the day before Thanksgiving, her meal of roasted duck and bread dumplings felt like a Thanksgiving meal. In addition, we made a sauerkraut dish and a plum dessert plus tastings of Slivovitz and plenty of glasses of delicious red wine. We highly recommend a cooking class with Aida.
Mood and Food is located in a wonderful creative area of Prague. You enter through a giant wooden gate and leave all cares and worries behind you. The next several hours you are taken back in time with Aida’s stories and her Grandmas recipes. Aida keeps you very involved in the cooking and conversation. We met several people and everyone was at ease. The food we all made and cooked was exactly as my grandmother used to make. Conversation was very jovial and the wines we had were very good. Having dinner around the table at the end with newly formed friendships was perfect. Thank you Aida for sharing your passion J, C, K
This is an excellent opportunity to learn about both Czech cooking and culture. I would definitely recommend it.
