Itinerary
Meet your guide in Piazza della Signoria, Political centre of the city. From there you'll walk to the near Uffizi gallery for your morning visit to the museum.
Inside you’ll admire some of the greatest works of Italy's unrivalled Renaissance masters, including the imitable Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Titian, Giotto, and Caravaggio. You'll see world-renowned works including Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Leonardo's Annunciation, as well as sculptures and paintings that demonstrate the power and strength of Renaissance Florence. Your expert guide can offer insight and answer any questions during the tour.
Then it is on to one of Florence’s most famous landmarks: the Ponte Vecchio, the city’s oldest bridge. The bridge offers panoramic views of the hills that surround Florence, perfect for a photo. Your guide will recount the bridge’s rich history, including how the Vasari Corridor radically changed the botteghe (shops) that line the bridge. When it’s time for lunch (at your own expense), your guide can book a local trattoria or suggest a typical Tuscan lunch.
After lunch, your guide will meet you to continue your tour. The knowledge of your local, licensed guide is best appreciated as you walk through the ancient streets of Florence, a romantic Renaissance city, with enchanting piazzas and a rich history. The numerous monuments that line your route will tell the story of this marvellous place.
After that, you’ll make your way to the magnificant Piazza Duomo. The stunning Cathedral sits at its centre, with beautiful, unique marble engravings. And, and towering above everything is Brunelleschi’s Dome, a wonder of Renaissance architecture and an enduring symbol of Renaissance Florence.
Finally your tour will take you to visit Michelangelo’s most famous sculpture: David. Be sure to look at it from every angle as you walk around it, as this is the best way to appreciate Michelangelo’s genius.

We saw all the major points of interest and Marco knew how best to navigate all the lines and show us the most important sights. Marco was extremely knowledgeable, super polite and friendly, spoke xlnt English, and was very concerned that we enjoyed our tour. Excellent tour guide.
Very nice hotel and the location can't be beat. It's a block away from the Ponte Vecchio on one side and the Uffizi Gallery on the other. We actually stayed here twice on this trip because we checked out in the middle of our stay to do an overnight trip to Siena and then returned to check in again for a couple of more nights before moving on to Rome. Our first night we were assigned to Room 101. Lovely room overlooking the river but with one big problem: the bedroom is up a long flight of stairs from the living quarters. Perhaps not an issue for the younger crowd, but my wife and I are getting up in years and navigating those stairs in the middle of the night to use the bathroom was not fun. So we spoke to the staff and were told that the earliest we could be moved would be when we returned from Siena. Sure enough, when we returned we were assigned Room 102 right next door. No stairs. Same view of the river. No problem. Both rooms were very well cleaned before and during our stay. The water pressure in the shower was adequate, not great, but the water temperature consistently fluctuated slowly back and forth from too cold to too hot. Rather than adjust it, I found it easier just to jump in when the temperature would let me and jump out when it wouldn't and wait for the temperature to come back around. There's a very nice rooftop bar where you can go have a drink. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I don't know that we would ever return as we like to try new places but I can recommend it as a hotel to consider in Florence.
Our guide Marco provided wonderful care and service to our family in touring both the streets and the galleries of Florence. As we viewed the awesome works of art, his explanation added much value to our ability to see the artwork through the eyes of the painter. In short, we most enthusiastically recommend this tour and guide!
Excellent guided tour of Florence art and Renaissance treasures. Leonardo M was a fantastic guide. Highly recommend him.
Great tour guide, solid stories and made the trip meaningful and memorable. Ensured we saw all the key highlights.
Marco’s explanations brought the city and its history to life! He made the whole trip! I would recommend him highly!
Our tour guide Leo did a great job educating us on the history of Florence and the history behind all the sites we visited. It was a great way to see the highlights of Florence in 1 day. We saw the Uffizi, the Duomo, Basilica of Santa Croce and the David among other sites that only a local would know. Leo was great in keeping our 3 teens engaged as well. Lots of walking but since it was a private tour, it was easy to take breaks when we needed them. Leo also gave us many useful tips to make the most of our stay in Florence.
Wow, what an experience. Our guide Marco was so knowledgeable, passionate and thoughtful. He helped us plan out an incredible day in Florence. We toured the museum, crossed the Ponte Vecchio bridge and explored some of local Florence and back for a viewing of David. By the end of the day we hated to leave Marco, he had become one of the family. Until we meet again.
Leonardo was our guide and was extremely knowledgeable and very accomodating based on what we wanted to see. He had fantastic recommendations for other places to see and things to do. The tour covered so many different sites and if you only have one day to do a tour, this is a great one to do. If you get Leo, you will have a great experience.
What a fabulous day we spent in Florence with Giulia. We spent about 5 hours taking in all the sites. Giulia was quick, insightful and her knowledge of art was impeccable. I have never had so much description of the 'David'. I would highly recommend this tour.
