In Sri Lanka, hoppers are thin, bowl-shaped pancakes named for the pan that gives them their form. Of course, these crispy basins cry out for some kind of filling. Just as the batter is starting to cook, chefs break a whole egg over it and cover the pan.

*All guest stay places. * Airport Pick up & Drop by Tuk Tuk (Three-wheeler- 20 USD ) * We can pick up travelers or meet them at a meeting point ( Colombo 1 to Colombo 15 only ) * Bandaranaike International Airport Pick up & Drop by Car ( Additional charger's for vehicle - 20 USD ) * Negombo Pick up & Drop by Car ( Additional charger's for vehicle - 45 USD ) Due to parking regulations enforced by the Tourist Police, we are unable to arrange Tuk Tuk pickups directly at the port entrance. However, the Colombo Lighthouse is just 20 meters away, approximately a 3-minute walk. Guests can easily reach this location for pickup.

Very disappointed, our driver didn’t turn up. We booked this tour through TripAdvisor with a collection time of 9am from our hotel. We had a light breakfast knowing we’d be going to plenty of food locations. At 9.30am no one had shown up so I contacted the tour company who said the driver had tuk tuk issues and would collect us soon. Shortly after this the driver contacted us and said they would collect us at 10.10am. By 10.20am we had been waiting in our hotel lobby for 1hour and 20mins, were very hungry, and still no one showed to collect us, so we requested a refund from TripAdvisor. We were surprised at the very poor service given the number of positive reviews, and do not recommend booking with Capital Tour by Tuk Tuk.
We sincerely apologize that our driver was unable to arrive at the scheduled pickup time. Unfortunately, the delay was caused by an unexpected engine oil leak in the tuk tuk, which was beyond our control. Despite the issue, our driver arrived at your hotel at approximately **10:30 AM** to collect you. After arriving, we also attempted to contact you via WhatsApp, but you were offline. We then tried to reach you through the hotel reception; however, this was unsuccessful because the hotel reservation was made under a different name. Providing excellent service is always our highest priority, and we deeply regret that this unforeseen mechanical issue prevented us from picking you up on time. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.
We enjoyed our afternoon food tour with our guide and tuk tuk driver, Hemi. We went to a fruit and vegetable market, and a few small restaurants and also had a tea tasting. Make sure you are very hungry when you go on the tour! Nantri Hemi
Memorable experience late afternoon in Colombo. Ramesh was our guide, super-friendly and deftly handled the peak hour traffic, while we sat back and enjoyed the ride. Our tour started at the Pettah produce market, before going to a number of roadside stalls and restaurants to experience local cuisine. The egg hoppers and spiced seafood dishes were superb. Ramesh maintained an easy and unhurried pace, despite the surrounding bustle. On the way home we stopped at a tea dealer to sample some teas to take home. We genuinely enjoyed the food and overall experience and would recommend it to other travellers. Great photo opportunities as well, so take your camera. Thanks, Ramesh!

We enjoyed a wonderful food tour on our second day in Sri Lanka, which was a great way to kick off our trip. We tried new food which we’ve been continuing to order and went to places we never would have discovered on our own. Highly recommend!
Great tour to experience a lot of the local foods. Romish did a great job showing us the markets and getting us a range of local foods sample. There was a little confusion over the meeting point but once we started the tour it went very smoothly. Highly recommend this for a great food tour.

I really enjoyed this foodie tour. Its a great way of seeing the real Colombo. My guide Hemi was very friendly and informative. Telling me about the food and showing me the sites. The food was plentiful, authentic and delicious. I also enjoyed the tea tasting and couldn't resist buying tea even though I am travelling light. The market was very vibrant and colourful and Hemi told me all about the different fruits and vegetables. I've enjoyed many foodie tours but this one certainly stands out. Thank you!
