Don’t use this during Carnival

This was very difficult to follow for the first 5 points. We got here the day after carnival, and all the fountains were covered by wood boxes.

Operator response

Cologne the day after Carnival is basically “city in recovery mode” — even the fountains need a day off behind wooden boxes 😄 We completely understand how that made the first stops harder to follow. Our routes are designed for normal city conditions, so when decorations, stages, or coverings appear (especially around Carnival), navigation can feel like an unexpected bonus challenge. We hope that if you visit again outside festival season, TouringBee will give you a much smoother experience — and perhaps you'll give us a higher rating next time.

Time to waste then pick this option.

Confusing path that needs to be updated and you cannot use the audio portion inside the church. Also need to update the actual recording in English.

A comfortable way to explore the city

I like audio guides for the sense of freedom and independence they offer — you can explore the city at your own pace without having to follow a group. If something distracts you or you miss a part, it is easy to rewind and continue. The route is logical and well planned, not too long or tiring, while still leaving room for breaks. The audio guide is easy and engaging to listen to, without feeling like a formal lecture, and it works well as a companion for a walk around the city.

Operator response

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! We’re really glad the TouringBee audio guide in Cologne gave you exactly that feeling of freedom and independence — walking at your own rhythm, rewinding when needed, and enjoying the city without being tied to a group. It’s great to hear that the route felt well balanced and not exhausting, while still leaving space for pauses and spontaneous breaks. That “easy to listen to, never like a lecture” tone is something we work hard on, so we’re happy it came through as a pleasant walking companion rather than a formal tour. We’d love to be part of your future adventures too — hopefully you’ll choose TouringBee audio guides again as you explore other cities and countries on your next trips.

The information on this...

The information on this tour was good, however it is difficult to follow having to switch back-and-forth between the audio recording and looking for locations on a map in a separate app. A GPS interactive tour is much easier to use.

Operator response

There’s actually no need to use a separate map — the TouringBee app includes an interactive GPS map that shows your exact location and the full tour route (as long as you’ve allowed the app to access your location). We hope you’ll give it another try — it makes following the tour much easier!

My new favorite walking tour method

Speaker is informative. Audio quality is clear. I loved being able to tour at my pace—lingering to take pictures, pausing at a charming cafe for a cappuccino, and detouring to visit a museum.

A good introduction to Cologne

This was a good introduction to the cathedral and a little bit of old town. I wish there had been more about the old town- but it was a good introduction. Though, the app glitched on me a bit and the walking directions weren’t always clear. I did like being able to go at my own pace so I would do it again

Operator response

We're happy to hear you appreciated the flexibility and enjoyed the intro to the cathedral and old town. We're continuously improving both the app's performance and the walking directions — and we'll definitely consider adding more content about the old town in future updates. Hope to have you with us again on another self-paced adventure!
