Meet your guide In front of Cafe Extrablatt at the Old Market Square, Alter Markt 28-32, 50667 Köln, Germany
Private tour of Cologne’s Old Town and EL-DL House. This history tour will take you back in time to World War II, following the events and people who shaped the history of Hitler’s Third Reich. Our Expert Guide will tell you in detail about Adolf Hitler’s rise to power, the Nazi oppression of Jewish people, and the Allied bombings during which 90% of Cologne was destroyed.
You will see the reconstructed Alter Markt with the Old City Hall and carved images of Good Heroes, the beautiful Gothic Cathedral of Cologne, the 10th-century Dominican Church of St. Andrew, and many Stumbling Stones along the way.
The main highlight of this tour will be a visit to EL-DL House - the NS Documentation Center. Entrance tickets are included. The EL-DL House is the former headquarters of the Gestapo (secret police) turned into a virtual "place of terror". The basements of the house had been used as prison cells and torture rooms for forced laborers and political enemies. Over 1800 inscriptions made on the walls by the prisoners can still be viewed today. The upper floors with Gestapo offices represent administrative terror and an evil system created by Nazis. Our Expert Guide will give you thorough explanations of who, why and how suffered under the Nazi regime in Germany. Don’t miss out on this chance to honor the resistance!

Great, a museum in its juice devoid of big coins to watch what forces you to read and therefore learn a lot! We loved it

I think this is a museum at least every German should visit, it shows in no uncertain terms how they treated thousands of people. The delema they got their selves into by letting a tyrant take over the country, and how their lives might be now if they weren't rescued by Britain and they allied forces. Then they might not treat us like third class citizens when we visit the country.
Dear Client, Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that our tour met your expectations. We hope that you will use our services again in the future. We look forward to welcoming you back on another tour! Best regards. Rosotravel Team
If you want a in depth look at this dark bit of the world’s history I highly recommend this tour with Michael. He is very knowledgeable and will tailor the tour to what you want to concentrate on. I know for a lot of people learning about this is not how they want to spend their holiday, but for those inclined I highly recommend it. It is only through education and spreading of this information that the world can ever hope to prevent these tragedies repeating themselves.
