Description
Discover Coimbra, one of Portugal’s most historic cities, home to one of the world’s oldest universities. After pick-up in Lisbon, we head north to explore the Mosteiro de Santa Cruz, where Portugal’s first king, Afonso Henriques, is buried. Next, we visit the Universidade de Coimbra, a UNESCO site, with its grand Biblioteca Joanina and Paço das Escolas. We continue to the Romanic Igreja de Santiago before admiring views from the iconic bridge over the Mondego River. Finally, enjoy free time in the charming Baixa de Coimbra before returning to Lisbon, enriched by history and tradition.
