It was very illustrative, very cultural, and extremely fun. Daniela attended to us at the farm, a very good guide, she made us experience coffee like we had never lived it on a farm before. William, our guide from the hotel to the farm, was very attentive, polite, and fun during the trip. It is an experience that should not be missed in Medellin. Very good.
This tour is amazing! Very informational and the views are amazing. Travelers do need to be in some what of a good healthy shape. Very steep and slippery climbs and descends. Not recommended for elderly and definitely need to where the proper shoes.
It is fantastic to hear that you found the tour amazing and informational! The views from the top are truly unparalleled, but you've made an excellent point that we always want to emphasize to our travelers. At ViajaMedellín, we prioritize the safety and preparedness of our guests. You are absolutely right—climbing the Piedra del Peñol and navigating some of the paths in the region involves steep inclines that can become slick, especially after a bit of tropical rain. Wearing proper footwear with good grip, like trainers or hiking shoes, is essential to enjoying the day without any slips. We appreciate you looking out for fellow travelers by mentioning the physical requirements. While the climb is a highlight, we always want our guests to be aware of the effort involved so they can prepare accordingly or choose to enjoy the base of the rock if the climb feels too strenuous.
I would like to give this tour a 5 star rating due to the plantation tour. However, due to the transportation issues I would not recommend this tour company to anyone. I purchased the English speaking tour with transportation. The ticket said pick up was 9am from our hotel. No problem as we are always early. At 8am I started getting WhatsApp messages (in Spanish), again, no problem we were in the lobby having coffee. We met the driver in what I would consider the smallest beat up taxi I have ever seen. He spoke absolutely no English. The was already one person in the front seat. We leave and go to another hotel where one more person is crammed in with us. I’m thinking we are going to go to central transport place and get in a large tour bus. But NO, we drive 50 minutes to the plantation packed in like sardines with no air conditioning. On the drive back down in 85-90 degree heat I can assure you the ride was miserable. The driver also answered a text while driving down a winding mountain rode. Another lady who spoke Spanish told him to stop, nothing was more important than our safety. As a flight attendant who reaches far, I can assure you I will absolutely NOT be recommending this company. It’s a shame because the plantation did a great job.
I am deeply sorry to hear about your experience. As a flight attendant, you have a very high expectation of safety and service standards, and it is clear that we fell short on this occasion. The situation you described—the lack of the promised English-speaking staff, the cramped conditions in the vehicle, and, most critically, the driver's use of a cell phone on a mountain road—is completely unacceptable. Safety is our non-negotiable priority, and we take your complaint about distracted driving very seriously. We will immediately investigate this particular transportation provider to ensure that this type of behavior is not repeated. While I am pleased that the plantation visit itself was a highlight, I am aware that the logistical shortcomings overshadowed the beauty of the day. This is not the level of comfort or professionalism that our experience aims to provide.
I loved the tour, the service was excellent, the explanation was clear and the pickup service very punctual. We really loved the coffee.

Overall a good tour. About 45 minute car ride outside of Medellin. A small coffee farm focused on tourism. Interesting and informative tour explaining the entire process, as well as some interesting products they make from the other parts of the coffee fruit. Biggest minus was that we were transported (4 visitors) in a very tiny and uncomfortable car with not enough room.
We appreciate your detailed feedback and are glad you enjoyed the informative coffee farm tour and learned about the production process. We sincerely apologize for the uncomfortable transportation experience; this does not meet our standard of service, and we will address this immediately with our transport providers. Thank you for bringing it to our attention, and we hope to welcome you back under improved conditions for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
