Cloud Forest hiking

Description
This is a taste of lush, sub-tropical jungle landscape, close to Salta city, and in complete contrast to some of the more rugged desert terrain of north-west Argentina. Our guide is experienced in hiking all terrain, and speaks English and Spanish. We have groups of a maximum of four people, so every hike can be tailor-made to your taste. We will provide a typical salteño lunch of empanadas, included in the price. This particular short trek is suitable for all abilities.

My wife and I and our two adult kids found this to be an excellent tour! Nick, the tour operator, succinctly communicated all the necessary details in advance. He met us for pick up in the lobby of our Salta hotel, right on time, and from there he drove us about 20 minutes to the start of the hike where we met our guide, Viviana, a local resident who clearly knew the flora, fauna, and terrain very well. The tour started in the town of San Lorenzo, just to the NW of Salta; from there we took paths that slowly climbed some 500m (?) in altitude, quite literally into the clouds. The scenery was lush and beautiful, and the fog and cloud cover created excellent lighting conditions for photos. From the top, we descended and returned to San Lorenzo where we enjoyed an outstanding lunch of empanadas. Note that my son, who has eaten many empanadas from many sources, said that these beef empanadas were "the best ones I've ever had". I will add that we appreciated that this tour can accommodate a wide range of abilities, as I'm sure we were slower than the average tour group.
We had a great time with you and the family, Stephen.
Overtime pickup, perfect the organization and the guide grew up there in the Yungas, shows the many plants and animals and tells eerily interesting about the lives of people . A mandatory experience in Salta
A pleasure, good to meet you and Heinz, Karin.
Nick and Fernando were great company and guides on our 1/2 day cloud forest hike.Nick picked us up from our airbnb and provided snacks and a great empanada lunch. We were able to hike at our own pace and because it was only 1/2 day we only travelled for about 20mins by car.Nick alsogave us some great tips for things to do in Salta! Thank you Poncho Tours. We would highly recommend!
Thanks so much for your kind words, Penny and Steve. Fernando enjoyed practicing his English as well!
