Climbing Kilimanjaro - Machame Route

Description
All your equipment and supplies are carried by porters and a cook prepares all your meals. Unlike the Marangu Route where you sleep in huts, on the Machame you sleep in tents (tents are included), and the porters will pitch your tent for you. Meals are served in a dinner tent or on a blanket outside. This makes the Machame, which is referred to as the "Whiskey Route," better suited to more adventurous hikers, and it also rewards you with better views than other Routes. From late afternoon sunsets at Shira, to the misty revelations of Kibo's great Barranco Wall, the Machame Route offers the spunky hiker a continuous scenic slide show.

It was a most wonderful experience! We had Freddy and Madeba as guides and they were fantastic. More than I ever expected!!!
Freddy, Madeba, and the whole Zara crew are absolute rockstars. Couldn’t recommend booking with them more!!!
The friendliness of our Zara Tours guides was wonderful- special thanks to Rabin (?) & Ahmed who really went the extra mile & we missed Mohammed who had to escort one of our team down - the chefs were great & amongst other dishes they served some wonderful soups & couldn’t do enough to help all under the able stewardship of Salim - The climb was tough but fun & you see first hand how much altitude effects individuals & has to be respected- Having our UK guide Tom Hicks (Tomhicksadventurer.com) assist us from the beginning in the uk regarding all factors such as training, what kit etc is essential for novice climbers in my view. The fact that he is then with you for the entirety of the climb & operates as an intermediary between the climbers & Zara tours was hugely valuable & I wouldn’t want to contemplate doing a climb of this nature without the likes of Tom’s input & value
Salim and his team - Rabin, Mohamed, Ahmed were superb. Honestly made the whole experience possible. They are amazing
The Kilimanjaro climb was an unreal experience and something that I am never going to forget. It was more challenging than expected and more beautiful than expected. I liked the tour, but I would say that summit night was extremely difficult because of the lack of sleep and the long road to walk/climb. The price we paid was worth it. Our guides were also the best and made the whole climbing 10 times better. This whole travel was nothing like I have done before, but I really enjoyed it and it inspired me to do more climbing. I liked seeing other people climb and porters hike, I feel like it added to the energy. The overall mood on the mountain was happy, and the staff always had a big smile on their face. This trip was awesome!
Awesome mountaineering and nature experience!
It has been tough and very hard because of that window is planned in 6 days. I absolutely do not recommend Machame rut in 6 days.
Very great adventure - great guide, very helpful team, excellent catering!
Great Experience, great Guides, great Team!
It was a great experience for me and my friend. We had some great days climbing the mountain together during the 6 days we had booked. The guides Godlisten and Sabasi were amazing, would highly recommend them both. The people were friendly and supportive and the nature was beautiful. It was a challenge to climb the mountain but it was an amazing experience.
