Description
This is Ljubljana's most popular tour for over 15 years, and is the only group tour that runs 365 days a year (11am), with additional morning & afternoon schedules in high season. Over time, our tours have become one of Ljubljana's most popular attractions, often serving hundreds of tourists a day in small & manageable groups. We are master chefs at delivering in-depth stories in a simple, entertaining, and engaging manner, and of course, complimentary tastings of local alcohol make it even more fun. Join us to see the difference. Now you can secure your spot and pay in advance.

Itinerary
We begin in Preseren Square, the beating heart of the city. We learn basic history of Ljubljana before we explore the different sights that are located at the square.
We learn about France Preseren, a truly colorful figure whose poetry inspired the nation during the Romantic days of the 19th Century. Find out why he was no Romeo and why we consider him to be our national poet.
Find out about our most famous architect, Jože Plečnik, whose works are considered a UNESCO heritage site, and who is responsible for Ljubljana looking as it does today, and why we have a Triple Bridge in the center
Ljubljana's Colonade is one of Plečnik's most amazing creations. Its an enormous structure that holds many secrets and surprises.
Also known as the love-lock bridge, Ljubljana's most recent bridge is a modern spectacle that does not resemble its original plans. Find out why.
Despite having dragons on it, it wasnt originally called the Dragons Bridge. Find out why.
The best place in town for local produce
It might be small in comparison with the larger cathedrals in neighboring countries, but it does have amazing history and is the pride of Slovenia's Baroque architecture.
The central square of medieval Ljubljana. Its gotta have some amazing stories.
Ljubljana's most famous Baroque artwork stands in Town Square. Does it look familiar?
This architecturally confused building is where city politics have been taking place for over 500 years.
Ljubljana's old Medieval town is one of the sweetest around. Cant miss it. Actually, most of the sites we see on-tour are in the Old Town, so saying its 30 minutes is not quite right.
One of Ljubljana's favorite meeting points, this former Medieval shopping mall has a few stories to tell.
Abound with symbolism and hidden meanings, this is one of Plečnik's most famous creations. It has some amazing stories to share, in fact too many for a single tour
Ljubljana's largest square is also its most political. It is the location of many historical events that shaped Slovenia and Europe as a whole.

Lucy was great! Very thorough and humorous
Thank you! Lucy will be delighted to hear that you enjoyed both her detailed stories and her sense of humour.
The walking tour gave us a great introduction to Ljubljana. We saw the sights of the city and Lucy was an excellent guide - knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Highly recommended!
Thank you for recommending us! We’re so pleased Lucy made your introduction to Ljubljana both interesting and enjoyable.
I really recommend this tour if you want to get to know Ljubljana and its history. Our guide Nina was extremely knowledgeable, informative and kind. Be aware that the tour is quite history dense and that you stand still more than you walk (because the city center isn't that big). I personally enjoy history and listened carefully but my girlfriend became a bit restless towards the end. Also be aware that you are expected to tip the guide 10-15 euros per person, which is fine but came a bit as a surprise as the tour was advertised as "free".
Hi Thanks for the review and glad you enjoyed our tour. When we merge groups of pre-paid and tip-based guests, some people are expected to tip, but not you as you had paid and secured your spot in advance. Hopefully you did not pay any additional tip (unles you really wanted to) because we watch over this closely.
The organisation was good, had a clear instruction of the meeting point. The guide, Ingrid, did give her best to bring us along even though we were quite a big group. All was great.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad and not surprised everything ran smoothly and that Ingrid kept a large group engaged throughout the tour.
Daniel was an excellent guide. We liked it so much that we did the communist tour the next day with Nina. Really lovely guides, very knowledgeable, competent, funny, and nice. Can't recommend it enough!
Thanks so much. They will both be delighted to hear.
