The experience was good, it was a little bit costly and the length of visit was short. Th atmosphere was great, crowd size very good, the staffs were very helpful and attentif. The DJ was great and played very nice music. The best part was the food and dancing
It’s always great hearing from our guests, and we thank you for taking the time to review our experience. It was a pleasure hosting you & we hope to see you again soon.
Do Not Go. I'm food services manager so I am giving good advice. The buffett served the absolute worst food I have eaten in the last 25 years. How bad? Take the worst hospital food and knock it down 3 notches. Overcooked vegetables ( khaki green broccoli) pasta stuffed somehow but unrecognizable, desserts, I could not identify the cake except it was gray. I've purchased wholesale for Universities and there is a range of options of quality and City Cruises bought the bottom of the barrel quality while charging over 150.00! The owners should be arrested for criminal negligence. You can say I'm just a poor sport or mean spirited. That is your right, but don't say you weren't warned.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that your dining experience did not meet expectations. Food quality is important to us, and we will be reviewing your comments with our team to address the concerns you raised. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
Boat, food. Crew, waiters were fabulous. The boat is like walking into 5 star resturant. Many people were dressed up but we were in casual close and felt comfortable. Wide section of food from eggs to prime rib.. at least 20 different delicious desserts. As soon as your seated the mimosas are poured. The views are beautiful of DC to Georgetown. Then DJ starts and the dancing started. There were many groups there for celebrations. Ask for Maurice he was the best waiter, always there with a smile and champion bottle.
Thank you for the wonderful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the food, views, and welcoming atmosphere aboard. It’s great to hear the DJ, dancing, and service all made your experience memorable—especially with Maurice. We appreciate you celebrating with us and hope to see you again soon!
The experience was wonderful. The food variety was great. Entertainment at the time was okay. The admission fee was not bad at all. I wished that the length of visit or ride was a little longer. Atmosphere was fine, unfortunately they cannot control who books their events. The experience overall was good.
Booked this cruise as the highlight of our visit to Washington. Totally disappointed, no atmosphere, the dining area had a dividing wall to stop us from seeing the other side of the river and, more importantly, the "Sunset." Drink service was appalling, so I ended up going to the bar ourselves. The AC was set on freezing cold. Food, the main course, was served 1 hr 20 mins after the starter, and the main was cold. We did complain to the management on the boat to no avail. The 4 people in our party moved to the bar to get a better atmosphere and feel part of the cruise. People were still being service food when the boat docked. A total disappointing evening.

The staff were good. We were seated by the buffet line and had people standing next to us. They shouldn’t have tables in that area. Food was fine.
Thanks for your feedback, Sandy! We're glad you enjoyed the staff and the food. We appreciate your thoughts on the seating arrangement and will take them into consideration for future experiences. Your insights help us improve!
Fabulous way to find hidden gems either super friendly & knowledgeable guides. We had a great, small group which meant we could chat to everyone

This is a unique way to visit Washington DC without having to walk around town. The cruise departs the DC wharf area, lasts about 3 hours (including boarding, etc) with a DJ spinning tunes, and a dance floor for folks who like dancing! The Sunday brunch is buffet style, bring a fun group to make up for the ok food. The vessel is completely glassed so pretty much all the seats are good for viewing sites. Lots of photo ops with familiar DC back drops, bring your camaras! We parked at a garage just outside the boarding area. Great time.
Thanks, ReviewNomadette! We're thrilled you enjoyed the unique experience our cruise offers. It’s great to hear you had fun dancing and capturing those beautiful DC views. We appreciate your feedback on the brunch and hope to see you again for another memorable adventure!
Unfortunately, my experience was regretfully memorable — My bf and I had booked this cruise the day before to celebrate our anniversary, but were denied entry onto the cruise and had to watch it sail away, without us. We booked the cruise through trip advisor only to arrive and be told the had no record of our reservation due to a system error. Despite providing all confirmation details—tickets, emails, credit card transactions, etc.—the ONLY solution City Cruises offered was for me to contact TripAdvisor directly and ask for a refund. After traveling across the city to ensure we arrived on time, early in fact, it was incredibly frustrating that the company refused to assist in correcting the problem. It would have been appreciated if City Cruises had made an effort to resolve the issue, maybe called trip advisor since we proved proof of our reservation, or even allowed us on and settled it once we returned to the Pier. Fortunately, TripAdvisor was understanding, apologetic, and issued a full refund within 48 hours. To avoid any potential issues, I highly recommend calling ahead to confirm your reservation is on the list before arriving.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we deeply regret the frustration this situation caused. We understand how important your anniversary celebration was, and we are truly sorry that you were unable to enjoy the cruise as planned. We appreciate your feedback, and we will review our processes to ensure better communication and support for future guests. We’re glad to hear that TripAdvisor was able to assist you, and we hope that you’ll consider giving us another opportunity to provide a more seamless experience.
