The staff went over and beyond to make sure that we were satisfied. The boarding was timely and the fireworks were a nice touch
This was a great event to celebrate the holiday season. The DJ was great. Our waitress and the rest of the staff were awesome. Highly recommend for a holiday celebration. The fireworks were beautiful.
Purchased what I thought were premium tickets via Tripadvisor only to find out when we boarded that premium tickets could only be purchased direct from Cruise line... SUffice it to say, the start was horrible, no window seat, no drinks before departure, and not so great service during the cruise. The only thing went right were the fireworks. This is an overpriced cruise with below average meal selection and dessert for the rates that are charged.... Never again.... Save your money and just watch the fireworks from your room at the Sable or the rooftop restaurant on the Navy Pier. Same view, if not better...
Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear that the cruise didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding ticketing and service. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve future guest experiences.
A group of us recently took the City Cruises Odyssey from Navy Pier for a dinner and fireworks viewing cruise. This was pre-arranged with an (allegedly) open bar. The positive: the ship was nice and the cruise was very enjoyable. The views were spectacular and we were perfectly situated to see the 9 pm fireworks from Navy Pier. All of that exceeded expectations. The food was meh. Not great but not awful. It was what I expected for something like this so I would say they met expectations. The negatives: while the waiter was a nice guy the service was slow and he made a bunch of mistakes in regard to what each person had ordered. Could have been a lot worse and he was pleasant. Thenopen bar, on the other hand, was a total grift and I feel cheated. Now, I understand they do not want people getting hammered and causing problems. At the same time I tried to order a double gin on the rocks and was told they could not do doubles. Ok. A colleague of mine ordered a scotch on the rocks and was told they had to add water. In addition the service seemed deliberately slow. I mean painfully slow, like order three drinks at once and you may get two throughout the night. If the open bar service charge was $30 I’d understand. But it was significantly more than that. I felt this was a money grab by City Cruises and, as I said, a grift. Ultimately I’d have rated the cruise a one or two star because of the grift but it was a mostly fun evening and all of the employees were very pleasant. My suggestion for anyone would be skip the bar package and pay drink by drink. You’re likely to spend less money for the same number of drinks.
Did the city cruise live with Below Deck. We bought VIP and spent over $600 for two tickets. Our seats were off the side and we could not even see the faces of those on stage. The pictures they provided is had horrible lighting were poor quality. SO DISAPPOINTED ☹️
Didn't make it need a refund.was stuck in traffic.Got there 2mins after and refused services and couldn't get any refund or help.
From the wait staff, the food, the entertainment, the fireworks, everything was exceptional. I would highly recommend this cruise to anyone that is looking for a wonderful experience.
This was a wonderful experience! I will be going back! The customer service was excellent. The food and drinks were delicious.
For what the experience costs the service first of all was terrible worst service ever they did not have our table ready and we did not even get our dinners till after the fire works and on top of if it was cold just not good !
This was a very good experience it was a lot of fun considering the fire works show started late we thought we were not going to have one Thank you
