Itinerary

45 min

Explore Manarola by foot or relax in a cafe or bar. From Manarola enjoy a shared boat ride to Monterosso. The harbor area is filled with colorful rowing boats and becomes the main sunbathing and swimming spot of the village from morning until dusk. In fact, this is the perfect place to spend a lazy day sunbathing and watching people jumping off the cliffs. Although there is no real beach here, it has some of the best deep-water swimming around. Along the main road the boats are pulled onto dry land every time the sea is rough. The village is all ups and downs, with steep narrow alleys carrugi, leading to the sea.

120 min

Nestled along the rugged Ligurian coast, Vernazza is a picturesque Cinque Terre village known for its vibrant houses, breathtaking beauty, and UNESCO World Heritage status. With car-free winding streets, a lively harbor, and charming shops, Vernazza offers a delightful experience for visitors. At its heart lies the lively Piazza Marconi and the stunning 14th-century Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia. The village boasts scenic hiking trails, such as the famous Sentiero Azzurro, connecting it to neighboring Monterosso al Mare. Vernazza's gastronomic allure lies in its exquisite Ligurian cuisine and locally-produced Cinque Terre white wine.

60 min

Monterosso is the largest of the five coastal villages known as the Cinque Terre. The village is located on hills cultivated with lemons, vines and olives. Its amazing beaches, its beautiful reefs and the sea’s crystal clear waters make this small village one of the most popular of the Italian Riviera.Monterosso is divided in two parts marked by the medieval tower of Aurora. The old town of Monterosso is dominated by the ruins of the castle and characterized by typical narrow medieval streets, carruggi, with multi-coloured terraced houses, shops and restaurants.

Jacob was the best tour guide!

The second stop has the best beaches if you’re going to swim. You only have an hour though. It was a beautiful experience but very crowded. The tour was worth the money if you have a good tour guide who can explain the sites on the 2 1/2 hour drive to the first town.

Good but not great

The tour provides a viable way to see the CT in a day from Florence. Our friendly guide Giovanni made sure the day worked for us without any fuss. For the price paid, we were expecting a dedicated tour boat rather than just joining another 200+ on the local ferry. Also not sure why an unescorted train trip was included but assume many people want the experience. (Not sure why!!) Overall a good day in a beautiful but very touristy part of the world. Expensive for what was provided.

Operator response

Dear Geoff, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed the beauty of the Cinque Terre and that Giovanni helped make the day run smoothly and pleasantly. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to him. Regarding the ferry, our tour uses the regular local ferry service that operates between the villages, allowing guests to enjoy the spectacular coastline from the water just as locals and visitors do. While the shared boats can indeed be busy during peak season, particularly in one of Italy’s most visited destinations, this is the standard navigation service available within the National Park. As for the train journey, it is intentionally included as part of the experience, as the local railway is the fastest and most efficient way to move between certain villages and offers guests the opportunity to experience the area as it is typically explored. We appreciate your comments and will certainly take them into consideration as we continuously review and improve our experiences. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back to Italy in the future. Best regards, Filippo

Great trip and a great guide!

Loved it. This is the third trip that we’ve taken to Cinque Terra over the years. Jonathan has been the best guide by far.

Awesome tour, awesome tour guide!

The trip was fantastic, and we were able to see three beautiful villages. Jonathan was a superb tour guide and got us to each location early, which helped us avoid the crowds and make the most of our time. It is a long day with quite a bit of travel and relatively short stops at each destination, but we felt there was enough time to enjoy each one. I would have loved an extra hour in Monterosso swimming in the Mediterranean, and Jonathan said that was an option, but we chose to see all of the villages instead. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and Jonathan’s organization and local knowledge made the day run smoothly.

Fun Family Day at 5 Terre

Esam was a great guide during this tour. He pointed out sights along the way and as well as key sights at each of the three villages of Cinque Terre we visited. He was attentive to our needs and, importantly, got us safely to each stop on the tour. We had originally booked a longer tour of all 5 villages that included walking between 2 of the villages. We are very glad we switched to this tour as It was nicely paced and quite enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour to folks wanting to experience Cinque Terre.

Rain , wind or heat....youre in for an amazing treat!

Allthough the weather was not great.....the trip was amazing. It really is too good to be true. The colours are srnsational, the food an absolute delight. In the warmer weather this would be sublime but it was still amazing.
