My first & hopefully only disappointing Viator tour. Meeting point was unclear so we stood around for >30 mins waiting. Driver was a very nice guy but he had no idea what this tour included. The time frames are unrealistic because it doesn’t account for drive time between places. So, we did NOT see Canterbury pop-up, Botanical Gardens,Gondola (HUGE disappointment),New Brighton Beach or an Art Gallery. This is basically a driver around town. He did call the boss who offered us a refund. We should have taken that as you can Tram, walk the town, the Gardens, Punting on Avon and still get to Gondola, which is by the cruise port. Our driver was very fast getting to us & did try to make up to us what we missed by driving around town telling us interesting points. We ate at place on edge of gardens,which we found on our own,, then walked to Punting, which took about 5 mins to walk to.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with just a half-day tour, but this ended up being one of the highlights of my trip! Our guide, Mike, was super friendly and knowledgeable — he made the history of Christchurch come alive with stories and local insights. We got to explore the Botanic Gardens, drive past the stunning street art and earthquake memorials, and even had a quick stop for coffee in a charming local café. The pace was just right, and the small group made it feel personal and relaxed. Highly recommend this tour if you're short on time but want to get a solid feel for the city!
