Chocolate and Jenever (Belgian Gin)Tasting in Ghent

Description
Experience centuries of Belgian craftsmanship with this small-group tasting that combines two iconic Belgian products: chocolate & jenever. Indulge in five delicious pairings while gaining insights into these craft products and the artisans behind them. Belgium is renowned for its craft foods and drinks, but have you tried jenever? Less known than Belgian beer, jenever remains a hidden gem. Though it’s the Belgian ancestor of gin, this unique drink can even resemble whiskey when aged. This tasting introduces you to five local jenevers, including a 10-year-aged jenever. We’ve paired them with chocolates from different chocolatiers across Belgium: a great opportunity to explore various styles of Belgian chocolate in a short time span. About us: our shop offers unique chocolate experiences, where quality is at its heart. We like to fully immerse you in the world of chocolate. In our shop you find artisanal chocolate from 4 different top Belgian chocolatiers.

We really enjoyed our experience!! We learned heaps about the Belgium chocolate and chocolate making process in general and about Jenever, its history and methods of making. The chocolate and Jenever pairing were well thought out and explained. Our host Dorien was fun and very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!!!

Wonderful immersion into the world of Belgian chocolate and Genever. We tried so many different chocolates and Genevers, with incredible flavor pairings, and we even 'trained our noses,' which was a very interesting experience. Personally I liked the homemade drink at the beginning the most, it reminded me of Christmas. Thank you for the amazing evening!
Thank you for the wonderful review for our Genever tasting. As it is still a new activity, this kind of feedback really means the world to us! Super happy to hear you liked our homemade liqueur, it's a huge compliment for us that it brought back some Christmas memories!
The host was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. The chocolate was delicious and the jenever varied and tasty. The explanations of the origins of the drink were great and scenting exercise at the beginning was great fun. The whole evening was great.
Thank you for doing the jenever tasting with us and leaving this super nice feedback. We wish you both many amazing gin/jenever evenings in the future!
