Windy provides the accompanying sound track, over the ship sound system coordinated fireworks display, amazing show! Rain or Shine event. no umbrellas are allowed to be opened underway. Tall Ship Windy, located on Navy Pier, and we have a ticket booth and dock, in front of the Billy Goat Bar and Grill. Arrive early, as fireworks crowds are huge! expect travel delays.

The fireworks part of the experience was unique to experience and see from the boat. Afterwards we sailed around for almost an hour but at that point it was dark and there was nothing to do. If it had been an earlier sail and ended with fireworks, it probably would have been more of a fun experience. It was so cold at night and we were freezing. We wished the crew was more interactive and also had shared with us that we could have gone inside where their bar area was. If you do the experience, make sure to bundle up and bring an extra jacket since there’s no blankets offered.
Great ship, Great captain, what more could you ask for ....? The view from the ship was incredible. I would bring a coat it gets a bit nippy out there >>>1
Really cool to get close to see fireworks on water up close. But disappointed in listed as “sailboat” and “sailing”. Sadly that was really just for show and there wasn’t any sailing involved like I expected and hoped when I booked it. They only put up 2 small sails on our cruise and the sails only up for 20 min (if that) and took down. And engine running entire time. Was expecting more fun “sail” but 0 actual sailing and Just a chance for a few people to help pull up sails that were up only briefly for show. For higher price point, I was expecting much more from this. Barely could find a seat and crew didn’t talk majority of time except 5 min at beginning.
Enjoyed this experience. Great view of the fireworks and city skyline. Be sure to give yourself extra time to drive/Uber to Navy pier due to the heavy traffic.

Such a fantastic way to view the fireworks! Sailed a bit down the shore, too. Beautiful nighttime photos of Chicago's skyline. The crew was friendly and the drinks were tasty. Highly recommend The Tall Ship Windy!

This was the best excursion I’ve had in quite awhile. The stay were fun and engaging. The captain maneuvered us up close and we had the best seat in the house for the fireworks. I highly recommend this cruise. Firework cruises are available Wednesday and Saturday.
