Description

The town of Chiapa de Corzo is much more than a jetty to take the boat to the Cañon del Sumidero! This town has history and tradition from pre-Hispanic times that its people proudly celebrate every year during the two weeks of JANUARY: the Fiesta Grande. The Parachico dance has been designated an Intangible CULTURAL HERITAGE by UNESCO since 2009. We will start with a tour on the BOAT (2.5 hours NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE) through the Sumidero Canyon. We invite you on a tour all year round to learn about the history of the Parachicos and legends, to visit traditional houses and the ARTISANS who work to prepare the Fiesta Grande. We are going to savor local dishes such as pepita con tasajo and pozol which have their origin in pre-Hispanic times!

Natural beauty mixed with rich culture

Had a fantastic day experiencing the natural beauty of the canyon as well as the culturally rich tour of the museum and town! Rudy is an excellent guide - kind, informative, curious. This was our second tour with him and we can’t recommend him enough!

Best tours in San Cristóbal

My partner went on two trips with Rudy to the canyon and the indigenous village. She had a wonderful time and Rudy was a knowledgeable and kind host. I unfortunately couldn't join due to illness but was able to meet Rudy for a lovely dinner in San Cristóbal. Highly recommend booking a tour with him.

A One-of-a-kind Experience - Experience Chiapas Like the Locals

We absolutely loved this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an off-the-beaten-path experience. Rudy is a local from Chiapas and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the area, so we learned so much about the state of Chiapas and the local traditions. We started off at Cañon Sumidero and then went to an annual festival that was taking place at a nearby town. We were one of the only tourists in the town and Rudy connected us with locals and showed us a one-of-a-kind experience. I can't wait to go back again and explore more towns with Rudy and his team.

Book with Rodolfo!

I cannot recommend Rodolfo more highly! I spent three full days with him in Chiapas and they were wonderful. He showed me sights and festivals that felt magical, took me all over San Cristobal, helped me find the best shopping, and was friendly, bright, and fun. Highly recommended!

Incredible food, place, and people

What a wonderful day we had, swimming in the river, watching a professional chef do his thing, and enjoying what we created. This was a gastronomical experience I certainly won’t forget! The river was beautiful, relaxing, and not touristed. Of course the food was incredible, but so was being able to actually see it being made, and to hang out the group. What an enjoyable day I’ll be reminiscing about for a long time.

Great and personal experience .

We had a great time with Rudy visiting Cañon Del Sumidero and Chapa De Corso. He had a great local knowledge as he grew up in the area, and he has a long experience in tourism. The experience was very personal, and Rudy followed our pace, which was really nice. I would highly recommend this tour. In addition I suggest booking multiple tours with him given his big knowledge.

Great experience

We recently visited Chiapas Mexico, more specifically the area of San Cristobal de las Casas. While visiting we had the pleasure of taking a personal guided tour by Rudy. I can say without hesitation it was an experience of a lifetime, from start to finish. Rudy Exceeded all our expectations turning a memorable trip into an extraordinary adventure. Rudy’s passion for the destinations we visited, as well his personal relationships with many of the community members helped create a perspective visitors rarely get to experience. His extensive knowledge of the area including historical information made every stop on the tour come to life. The fascinating stories and historical facts were an experience like no other. If you are looking for an unforgettable travel experience and not just a copy and paste tour look no further. Our journey was nothing short of magical and we whole heartedly recommend Rudy
