Chiang Rai: Trekking & bamboo cooking Tour

The trip was wonderful, with a swim in the waterfall and a finale at the hot springs. Lunch was exceptional and truly evocative, and we had the best guides we could have hoped for, super kind and helpful

🌿 A moment suspended between nature, tradition, and emotion🌿 On this unforgettable day, I had the chance to take part in an activity deeply rooted in nature and local traditions. It all began with a stop at the market, where we selected some fresh ingredients to carry in our backpacks and cook later… deep in the wild forest. Guided by James, a 24-year-old passionate and incredibly skilled young man, each step of the journey became a source of wonder. Along the way, he patiently gathered everything we needed for our “outdoor kitchen”: chopsticks, bowls, plates, and cooking pots – all cleverly crafted from bamboo, banana leaves, and other carefully chosen natural elements. Nature became our kitchen, our table, our refuge. I truly relished not only the delicious dishes we prepared together, but also the deeply human, sensory, and spiritual experience it turned out to be. Despite his young age, James shows rare maturity and know-how. He embodies the very soul of the forest; he knows every breath, every secret. His future in this field is undoubtedly bright, and I thank him deeply for his kindness, attentiveness, and guidance. None of this would have been possible without Pon, the director, who passed on to him this profound love for his country and offers a service of exceptional quality. This experience is one I will never forget. It embodies both the beauty of simplicity, the power of authenticity, and unconditional love for the earth. It was more than an outing – it was a moment of renewal, an adventure, and a return to the essential. I sincerely thank Pon and James for revealing to me the true beauty of their country, through an experience both humble and extraordinary. 🙏 Thank you for this graceful pause.

Jungle hiking!!! Put on your best hiking shoes and be ready to test your climbing abilities. Although it wasn't super extreme, it was still I hike. The bamboo cooking was very interesting and very tasty. Our guides where great.

We had such a wonderful time! John was amazing and so patient with this out-of-shape group. ;) We highly recommend this tour, especially with John! Our chef was truly a master, and Aum was happy to keep the non-hikers entertained!

I highly recommend this experience. We did it in English. The views are spectacular and the bamboo cooking experience is amazing. Guide John and his family treated us unbeatable. End the visit in a waterfall where we could bathe. Throughout the tour, they explained plants, terrain, etc.
