The White Temple, also known as Wat Rongkhun, is a must-see on any trip to Thailand because of its extraordinary architecture and renown devotees. Inside, you will find a plethora of murals that are as bizarre as they are unexpected. A visit to northern Thailand would be incomplete without seeing the incredible White Temple in Chiang Rai.
This sacred temple, with its blue and gold exterior decor, is stunning. The interior is just as blue as the exterior, with a large white Buddha erected in the center in the style of modern Buddhist art.
One of Chiang Rai's most impressive temples has a 100-meter-high white Buddha that can be seen from afar. The highlight is the enormous Buddha inside. A lift takes you up to the Buddha's head, where you can gaze out over the Chiang Rai landscape through the eyes of the statue.
Dinner at a local restaurant in a Northern-style or Lanna-style. Before return to hotel, visit Chiangrai night market, one of the most well-known one is Chiang Rai Night Bazaar.

Wonderful half day tour with Sandy! This is a terrific half day tour to see the temples as the sun sets and the crowds die down. The temples are unique and very different from each other. The dinner was delicious and so enjoyable, to sit in a lovely setting ,in the middle of the night market and enjoy some live music. Sandy was a terrific guide and helped to make it a tour to remember.
