08:45 AM - Venture to Wat Suan Dok, a historic temple located just west of the old walled city of Chiang Mai. This temple is renowned for its myriad white chedis and its name, "flower garden temple," alluding to its past as a royal flower garden. Marvel at the many chedis, including a majestic 48-meter-tall golden chedi containing Buddha's relic. Numerous smaller white chedis house the ashes of generations of the Chiang Mai Royal Family, a poignant reminder of the city's history.
10:30 AM - Next, you'll visit the iconic Doi Suthep Temple, perched atop a hill. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, with its 306 steps flanked by mythical Naga balustrades, offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city, especially on clear days. This is a spiritual and visual feast. 12:00 PM - Savor a delectable lunch at a local eatery, refueling for the adventures ahead.
01:30 PM - Explore the charming Wat Jed Yod, an extraordinary Lanna temple complex on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. This royal temple, dating back to the 15th century, showcases a unique architectural fusion influenced by Lanna, Rattanakosin, Lao, Chinese, and Indian styles. The temple houses the ashes of King Tilokkarat, the ruler of the Lanna Kingdom from 1441 to 1487, in a revered chedi.
02:00 PM - Your journey continues to Wat Phra Singh, one of the most magnificent and ancient temples within Chiang Mai's walled city. Also known as the Monastery of the Lion Buddha, this active temple hosts numerous monks and novices. It boasts a collection of highly revered and ancient Buddha images.
02:45 PM - Explore the grandeur of Wat Chedi Luang, featuring a massive and impressive chedi that dominates the landscape. Commissioned by King Sean Muang Ma to enshrine his father's ashes, construction began in 1391, lasted nearly a century. Although a major earthquake in 1545 caused significant damage, it has since been partially restored, standing as a testament to the city's rich history.
03:30 PM - Conclude your tour at Wat Chiang Man, Chiang Mai's oldest temple, dating back to the city's founding in 1296. This temple, established by King Mengrai, is a historic landmark holding several ancient and revered Buddha images.

Spent the day touring temples in and around Chiang Mai. Guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the temples; the meaning of the various murals, paintings, and carvings; and especially the Buddhist religion and the numerous monks that are historical, legendary figures. Tour included stops for lunch, coffee, and water.
Very well organized private tour. The guide personalized our experience. Explained the rich history of Chiang Mai as the former capital of the Northern kingdom. The cold towels and the stready supply of cold water bottles were helpful in the hot tropical climate. The guide was attentive to detail. We spent the right amount of time at each stop and had an unforgettable experience overall. Strongly recommend!
