2 days floating to Luang Prabang “be in shape!”

It is very unorganized from the aspects of explanation and language barriers so you don’t know where to go and what tickets to have. It seemed no one that worked at immigration and the tour operators knew English and we waited for our guide from Viator to find us. Once we got to him over an hour had passed, but he was excellent. After spending the night in Huay Xai we went to meet up with the boat. Again the wait was long and disorganized. The boat was very crowded and the bathrooms got pretty messy. I still gave the trip a four star because we met so many incredible people and when you are on a boat trip for 2 days you have some great conversations. There was also plenty of beer for sell so that calmed everyone. Pak Beng had a nice view, we were at the hill top and stayed at the plush Pak Beng Sanctuary. It had an incredible view and wonderful meal and service. The boat will not help you with your luggage and no one will carry your bag up the muddy hill to find a ride to your hotel. Still and yet I’m glad I went on this adventure which ended in Luang Prabang. Luang Prabang was one of the highlights of our trip.

Operator response

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and confusion you experienced, especially regarding explanations and language barriers. Once guests pass through immigration, the process and coordination are unfortunately beyond our direct control. However, we truly regret the delays and disorganization you encountered and understand how frustrating that must have felt. We are very glad to hear you enjoyed the boat journey, met wonderful people, and had a great stay in Pak Beng and Luang Prabang. Thank you again for your understanding and for sharing your honest experience.
