I booked the walking tour at the very last minute! The tour did match my expectations. It was enjoyable and instructive, which I was looking for. The guide, Marco, is really professional, learned, smart and friendly. I did suggest this walking tour to everybody, old and young people.
The tour guide was professional and explained everything in details. I managed to understand Chania more and learn it’s history
Instructed to meet at a given time at the municipal market, Chania, next to statue. Arrived 15 minutes early but no one showed up. Received no communication to say there would be a no show and emails for refund of the booking fee bounce back undelivered. Clearly a scam so be very alert to this.
Warning…… I think the Free Tour Chania walking tour is a scam. Despite booking, receiving confirmation of the booking, no one was at the meeting point and I received no explanation or apology. Tried to send an email but with no response. Be warned.
Our guide never showed up. I contacted the company 7 hours ago and they never responded. They sent many reminders of the tour and accepted $5 to hold our spot-- but now I can't get any response from them.
We saw the other reviews saying the tour guide was a no show but we thought we'd risk it. Lo and behold, he didn't turn up. 10 minutes after the start time, I managed to contact the tour operator through Trip Advisor. To his credit, he replied immediately saying the tour guide was unwell (sincere apologies if this is true, but given the previous cancellations... dubious) and that we had been refunded - no way of checking for the refund yet, of course. We were able to let the other disappointed punters know - none of them had been contacted either despite booking directly with the company. We rolled the dice and lost - fair dos - but seriously guys, if you're going to take people's money, sort yourselves out.
Signed up and paid for the tour. As we were in the $40 taxi to the meeting spot, we looked up the reservation to confirm the spot and saw that the tour was cancelled. We did not get any notification directly about the cancellation. Would never book with this company again.
Earlier in the day we got notification that the tour had been cancelled, no reason given. I suspect lack of starters. We were told we will get our money back in five days. Quite disappointing.

Fantastic tour, highly recommend, especially on the first day and first visit, they show you the amazing history in Chania town, also they give you restaurant recommendations
We had a very good time during the walking tour. Even though our tour date was changed a couple of times, the organisers kept in touch with us and we were able to reschedule very conveniently. We received great recommendations for restaurants, bars etc. What we appreciated the most was that the guides were still available to answer other questions we had even after the tour, on WhatsApp.
