Hands down the best guide we’ve encountered in Europe. Thassalis made Crete come alive for us, tying together thousands of years of history into a witty, engaging and educational experience. We drove deep into the mountains in a meticulously clean and comfortable Land Rover. We enjoyed the wine tasting but would encourage the owners ti match the presentation of their offerings with their great products, We’re so glad we chose this tour and felt we were lucky to spend the day with our guide - a superb ambassador for Crete.

On road and part off road but not overly bumpy at all. Guide was 100 percent awesome, high energy and extremely knowledgeable one of the very best 1/2 day trips we’ve ever done by far……driver and trip is better than the winery, nice but usual. Don’t miss this gem great time

Unbelievable experience! We booked this last minute due to our Santorini Day Cruise being cancelled. Our driver Manos was fantastic - friendly, funny and gave us lots of insight to the island of Crete. We were picked up in a Land Rover from our hotel in Chania and then was a 1.5 hour drive before going off roading up a 2,000 ft mountain to endless views! This is an off roading tour so expect a very bumpy drive on an unpaved road - so don’t expect a smooth ride. The winery was in a beautiful location with great wine and we were provided a 4 course meal which was sooooo good! Highly recommend this tour!

I highly recommend our guide. His love and enthusiasm for his country and nature was inspiring and informative. I fell in love with his country because of spirit! We tasted and smelled lovely and delicious fruits and herbs on our off road adventure. The views were amazing. I can’t say enough about our time at the most beautiful, peaceful and lovely vineyard I have ever visited!! Also, the wines and our meat and cheese plate were delicious! The tastings were generous and presented with a lovely wine talk. I highly recommend!!!

Off road is right. You are picked up in a jeep and start off roading almost right away. Not for people with a bad back if you have to sit in the back. John took great care of us and assured us he was a great driver which he was. We saw a lot of beautiful Crete country from high above. The winery was beautiful.

Nice welcome from the Manousakis family, warm and efficient explanation on the production of their wines. Tasting of 5 wines accompanied by cheeses/charcuterie and bread. As for transportation in our case we were accompanied by two guides and two cars. John was definitely connoisseurs and gave a lot of info during the visit but Anastasio was the second driver we had and we felt a little less comfortable and wanted to please us and know us rather than inquire about what we saw during the off-piste ride.

We spent our day with experienced and lovely tour guide Roy. Quite simply the best tour guide we've ever had. He provided a ton of knowledge on local fauna, inner workings of the vineyards and witty humor. Book him and you simply not only get the best, but also funniest vineyard experience known to a man.

We had a wonderful time on the mountain and winery tour! We lucked out and got Louise as a driver - she was amazing. Told us many interesting facts and she was so much fun!!! Also she knew the way back while our friends driver made a wrong turn. All was well in the end however we felt lucky to be with Louise. HIGHLY recommend this tour! We were with the Azamara group!

This was a great half day tour. Our guide really took care to explain local traditions etc. The hillside views were spectacular. The staff at the winery were very hospitable. Tasted five nice wines. Only suggestion would be to provide a third glass for wine tasting so all glasses don’t have to be completely empty to taste another wine. Would certainly recommend this tour.
