Genuinely loved this class. Filled with heart and authentic recipes and ingredients. Highly recommend. Went with my family of 4. International guests. And a full family operation. If you have the time. Include this in your plans! 100% recommend. Time well spent!! And outcome was delicious
This was an incredible experience and I cannot rate it highly enough! Veerna provides a fun, hands-on, traditional cooking experience in her large outdoor kitchen (she also has an indoor option for bad weather). Her brother Kostas and his son Alex help out as well, and the experience is informative, fun, and tasty! Taking this class added substantially to our knowledge of Crete and our understanding of Cretan culture. The cooking itself is not burdensome at all as the team makes it easy to learn and the tasks are all shared, making it feel fun and enjoyable. The recipes you make are shared afterwards so that you can replicate the deliciousness at home. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, cook, and enjoy a meal with this fun and gracious family!
We decided to do a cooking course on the spur of the moment and chanced upon Veerna’s Chania Cooking Class. This was a magical day with many laughs and fun while learning to cook the delicious Cretan Food. And then more fun as we sat down to eat the food we had all prepared - so easy, so delicious and taking the left overs home for later was a bonus. Veerna and Costa and the whole team at Chania Cooking Class were very warm and welcoming - we really felt like old friends by the end of the day. We highly recommend this course to anyone who likes to be hands on and learn about the local specialities.
Wonderful cooking experience! Family was very friendly and gave good cooking instructions and tips! Highly recommend .
Such a fabulous experience! My husband and I took this cooking class and had the best time! The hosts, Veerna and her family, were so warm, welcoming, and fun! They talked about the historical significance of the meal we were making and guided us every step of the way. I am no cook, but they made it super easy to follow along and it turned out deliciously! The group was a mix of lovely folks from around the world - we enjoyed great conversation and breaking bread with new people! I would highly recommend this class if you want an authentic Cretan cooking experience!
We didn’t “see” much of Chania to be honest, but we what did was one of the greatest experiences EVER! (One also that I’m proud to say my husband went along with, begrudgingly at first, but still hasn’t stopped taking about it 😂)! We took a 12 person traditional Crete cooking class in a family owned olive 🫒 grove! They picked us up from the port (we were the only ones from our ship that did it). We met people from Melbourne, Australia, Colorado, Boston that had booked from a tour site like we did. We scratch cooked traditional lamb, potatoes, carrots, onions in a huge stone oven, made traditional phyllo dough to make spanakopita and cheese pie, made Crete tzatziki, dakos, drank wine & Raki, and shouted “Yamas” for hours! We left feeling very full and like we spent the afternoon with family we didn’t know we had! ❤️❤️❤️. Veerna, Kostas, and Alex taught us to cook traditional dishes and how to enjoy what true Crete meals feel like! 💯 would do this again!!!!
We had a great time. They really involved everyone in the class. The outdoor kitchen and wood burning fireplace is so cute. Very spacious and didnt feel crowded with other families.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this family-run cooking class in Crete. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends and made to feel part of the family. The hosts shared not only their delicious recipes but also fascinating stories about Cretan culture, traditions, and local ingredients. The cooking was hands-on, fun, and suitable for all skill levels. Every dish we prepared was fresh, authentic, and incredibly flavorful. The setting was beautiful, relaxed, and truly captured the warmth and hospitality that Crete is known for. What made this experience special was the genuine passion and kindness of the family. It felt much more personal than a typical cooking class—it was a memorable cultural experience and one of the highlights of our trip. We left with full stomachs, new skills, wonderful memories, and a deeper appreciation for Cretan cuisine. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Crete who wants an authentic and unforgettable experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had a fab time learning how to make traditional Greek recipes like dolmades, dakos, Tzatziki etc my fav was Arni Kleftiko (thieve’s dinner). I met people from all over the world and had a fun time bonding while cooking together. What impressed me the most was the cleanliness. They were constantly cleaning after every dish we made. Super impressed by that. They made me feel like I was a part of their home. Im so eager to try to make all these dishes when I get home. I hope I make them proud.
