Description
The tour begins at 06:00 hs., when the minibus picks you up at your accommodation in El Calafate. You can appreciate the southern Andes where the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Fitz Roy stands out Once in El Chaltén, the foods are delivered to each walker. We'll get to the White Stones Lookout. You will continue the journey to Laguna Capri. There you have lunch before continuing the descent to El Chaltén. We will continue the journey with one of the guides through the area of Camp Poincenot Base, cross the bridge over the White River, and from there it begins to gain height quickly. In total there are about 430 meters of elevation for almost 3 km. until reaching the climax: the Lagoon of the Three. The group arrives at a morene ridge from where it can be seen in all its glory the Fitz Roy massif and at its feet the Lagoon and Glacier of the Three. It will surely be the perfect time for lunch enjoying an unforgettable view and moment.

El Chaltén is a municipality located in the Los Glaciares National Park, in the Argentine province of Santa Cruz. From here it is possible to access the trails that surround the peaks of Cerro Torre and Mount Fitz Roy, to the northwest. Near Fitz Roy, a path leads to the viewpoint of the Los Tres Lagoon. Just northwest of the town, the shore of the Capri lagoon offers views of the mountains. We will arrive in our vehicles to the mountain village of El Chaltén after 3 hours of travel, having traveled 220 kms.

Then continue vehicle through the valley of the Rio de las Vueltas to the White River, where we find the Hosteria El Pilar, there we will start a walk with AAGM mountain guide, passing through the Piedras Blancas Glacier, Camp. Poincenot, Mount Fitz Roy, to the Capri Lagoon, where we will find our Base Camp
We will continue bordering Lake Viedma - having the Andes Mountains in the background (including Fitz Roy and Torre).
Then we continue by vehicle through the valley of the Río de las Vueltas to the Río Blanco, where we find the Hosteria El Pilar, there we will begin a walk with an AAGM mountain guide, passing through the Piedras Blancas Glacier, Camp. Poincenot, Mount Fitz Roy, to Laguna Capri, where we will find our Base Camp.

- It is an activity of medium to high physical demand, aimed at those travelers who want to travel paths through native forests and mountain rivers, with unique views of the glaciers and hills of El Chaltén
- Once in El Chaltén, at approximately 08:30 hs., a short stop is made for those who wish to go to the bathroom before starting the march. A second trekking guide will accompany the group during the hike.
- Those who hesitate to continue with the second section, much more demanding than the first, will continue the journey with one of the two guides as GROUP 2 to the beautiful Laguna Capri, another of the must-see attractions of El Chaltén. There you have lunch before continuing the descent to El Chaltén.
- GROUP 1 continues the journey with one of the guides through the Poincenot Base Camp area, crosses the bridge over the White River, and from there begins to gain height quickly. In total, you climb about 430 meters of elevation for almost 3 km. until you reach the climax: the Lagoon of the Three.
- At approximately 19:00 hs the minibus leaves for the city of El Calafate, where the service concludes leaving passengers in each hotel between 21 and 22 hours.
- This service only operates on odd days.
- Age limit: 10 to 55 years. (Non-exclusive over 55 if you have good physical condition can be up to 59 years)
- Guides: up to 7 pax goes 1 guide, from 8 van 2.

- Ages: 10 to 55 years. It is not exclusive, but in case of older participants, it is necessary that they practice trekking or hiking and have a good physical state for mountain walking, considering that it is a medium/high difficulty hike. In these cases, please consult in advance.

It was an intense experience, the trail has a total of 24km and not 3km as in the description, it has wonderful views, but it is quite exhausting.. as the description is "incomplete" I think it should be corrected, because my husband wanted to do a lot, and I only did pq I thought it would be 3km..Finally I ended up making 16km, not the total making half of the route completely alone so that he could go with the guide and conclude (making the peak)..we took a day where was -2 in the center of el Chalten, cloudy and with various periods of rain, snow in the peak and a lot of wind..for those who like this type of trekking I recommend..and for those who are not well prepared I suggest doing with smaller trails, because besides expensive is extremely tiring. No need to pay entrance to the park, so do not buy a ticket in advance, do not charge there ( entered into force less than a year ago and there are still discussions, so it is not mandatory)
This was as advertised - transportation to and from El Chalten oriented specifically around a long hike (Laguna de Tres Lagos = 20km). You could probably piece together this service for slightly cheaper on your own, but the ease of organization made it worth it, and it was well run.
If, like me, you are only staying 2 days in El Calafate, you should definitely spend one day in El Chaten. The other one al Perito moreno. This trip is: 3 h bus - 4h hiking - 3h bus If I have the opportunity to go back to Patagonia, I will make sure to spend at least 2 or 3 days in El Chalten for good hiking
