Great tour, but nonexistent tour company name given and getting to meeting point took a long time

The tour was WONDERFUL, once we found the company that had our reservation! You have quite a long walk to get to the port, and then have to find your way out of the port and walk up a road. When we got there, the company viator told us to look for was nowhere to be found. I thought we may have missed it, as it took so long to get there on foot, and none of the taxi drivers knew the address or company. Finally went to a place with another name that we HADN'T been given and they had our reservation. I was SO happy to find it but so mad at viator it took me a while to calm down. After that, everything was perfect: wonderful guides, walk at Chachoben was flat, so my friend made it ok, the ruins were breathtaking, saw a bunch of spider monkeys, too, which was great, and the lunch hosted by Mayan natives was exceptional (and so were they!)

We loved this tour!!!

Diego was an amazing guide! We loved all of the information & cultural knowledge. And the lunch was “ki” (“delicious” in Mayan t’aan). You will be wishing others "ma'alob k'iin" (good day) and forever have a higher standard of what “Mexican” food can taste like - learning how to form our own fresh corn tortillas then eat them fresh off the grill? Amazing! Chacchoben was so cool and we even got to see spider monkeys playing in the wild!! Native Tours put together a lovely day. Education, a comfortable ride, water, and kindness. My whole family was engaged - including all 3 kids, aged 14, 11, and 5! Sincere thanks for this tour which was the highlight of our cruise!!!

Wonderful tour

Highly recommend!! Maria was friendly and knowledgeable. Our tour guide at the archeological site was informative. We didn’t feel rushed and the group wasn’t too big. We could ask questions and hear well. It was warm, but they handed out plenty of water if needed. The village site was very nice, everyone got to make and eat their tortilla and then they explained some about the lunch dishes which were very tasty. Had time to walk around the garden. Virginia at the village was wonderful with my talkative son. Returned back to the port in plenty of time to do a little shopping. We were supposed to do this tour last year and our ship didn’t port due to winds, so glad we got to do it this year!

Had a good time

Instead of overpaying for a tour from Icon of the Seas, we went with this local company and had zero regrets. Carlos took his time at Chacchoben, answered questions, and never rushed us. After that, the cultural stop with Mayan food and traditions was really interesting. We even had time to walk around the port before all-aboard.

Everything is just fine

Honestly, I wasn’t sure about booking outside the ship while on MSC Seaside, but this ended up being one of the best days of our cruise. Ana and Marco were great, and the ruins were way more impressive than we expected. The Mayan experience part added something special instead of just “look and go.” Plenty of time back at the port too.

Great

"Cultural Gem" What I remember most wasn’t even the ruins — it was the little Mayan experience stop with homemade food and local people. That part felt real. We came in on NCL Encore and at first planned to book through the ship, but this local tour was cheaper and way smaller. Luis also made Chacchoben easy to understand without turning it into a history lecture. We were back early and relaxed before sailing.

Wonderful day - definitely recommend

We had a fantastic experience seeing the Mayan ruins and learning the history. Edder was a fantastic tour guide who took great care of us and had lots to share about the history of the ruins and the Mayan people. Elliot gave us a wonderful tour of the Mayan village and the lunch was fantastic. It was a lot of fun to make our own tortilla and have an authentic and delicious lunch! Would highly recommend this tour!
