We had a wonderful day with Christiana. She was charming, knowledgeable, approachable and was easy to follow for recipes. Her approach was down to earth and we laughed a lot.
This was hands down the best meal we’ve had in Italy—and one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. Michela, our host and professional chef, was an absolute joy from start to finish. She’s warm, passionate, and has a gift for making everyone feel welcome, no matter their experience level in the kitchen. I’m not an experienced cook by any means, but Michela made the entire process approachable, fun, and relaxed. We started the day with a visit to a local market where we learned about regional ingredients and chatted with the vendors. Then we walked to her beautiful home, where we enjoyed a delicious spread of local cheese, fruit, and wine before diving into the cooking. With Michela’s guidance, we prepared fresh pasta and tiramisu—she even let us sample her own tortellini and generously shared some of her personal recipes. Cooking with her felt more like spending time with a friend than taking a class. We ended the evening around the table, enjoying everything we had made, paired with excellent local wines. I definitely prefer this experience over a more traditional cooking “class.” If you’re in Verona, don’t miss it.
The tour began with introduction to our remarkable guide, Mikaela, a chef with deep knowledge in food, wine and all things Verona. This was followed by a visit to a nearby local market where we saw every fresh local delicacy you can imagine and spoke with the people who provide them. Following a short walk back to her apartment we began with a wonderful cheese, fruit and wine spread, and then a fun, easy going session in the kitchen where we prepared fresh pasta and tiramisu. Mikaela is a natural teacher, who imparted us with confidence to imagine preparing fresh pasta at home! We dined together, and enjoyed the accompaniment of fun local wines. What a pleasure it was to meet our host and experience her enthusiasm and kindness. We often choose these “immersion” experiences with cooking in local guide’s homes. They have never disappointed. But this one stands out as the best ever!
This was a fabulous experience! Michela was a great hostess. She took me to a cheese shop at the market, a pasta-making shop and a pastry shop—all local places not tourists. Then we made pasta and tiramisu. I was able to use the pasta machine with the crank, which I have at home but was nervous to use—not any more. Finally, we shared a delicious meal. Al in all the day felt like I was hanging out with a friend in Verona. I highly recommend!
Highly recommend! Our group of six truly enjoyed the market tour and cooking class. Michela made us feel welcome in her home and was a great host, teaching us how to make tiramisu and pasta. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience in Verona.
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! Our home cook, Michaela, brought us to several local shops and along the way shared interesting historical information about the city of Verona. We arrived at her lovely apartment to find a beautifully set table, aperitifs with antipasti and delicious local wine to start our lesson. We learned how to make pasta and tiramisu, and then we enjoyed our meal with Michaela. Truly a wonderful experience!
The experience itself was fun, great family bonding, kids were frilled. They loved the dog as well. We made simple bruscetas, ravioili with ricota and basil and tiramisu cream. The problem is that we booked 5 hours experience in Verona, while we got 3 hours cooking 10 kms outside Verona. The cost was 600 eur plus 60 eur return taxi, which is exuberant price for the time and food we got. The adults practically went out hungry. One bottle of still water per person, one bottle prosecco, shared with the host, no other refreshment, even coffee. I would still recommend it highly, just not at this price we paid and better if you can have a car. Try to book well in advance to make sure about all arrangments and expectations are met. Between Viator, Cesarina and the host, information is taking time, you may book something not doable at your time slot and you will be offered something different with no refund.
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad to hear that your family enjoyed the cooking, bonding time, and even meeting the dog — those moments are always special. We sincerely apologize for the confusion regarding the location, duration, and included refreshments. We understand that the extra travel and limited food may have affected your overall experience and perception of value. Your feedback regarding booking communication and expectations is very important, and we will work with our partners to improve clarity and coordination. We appreciate your recommendation despite the challenges and thank you for helping us identify areas to enhance.
Wonderful. She is so very nice and accommodating. Great experience One of the highlights of our trip
All I can say is WOW!!! The walking tour and the cooking session were both excellent and informative. Our Chef was sooo wonderful. Her passion for the city and cooking went above and beyond. I absolutely recommend this tour for anyone visiting Verona.
We had an amazing experience. Michela was a gem. She took us on a short tour of her favorite places. She assisted with tips in making our pasta dishes and the tiramisu. We truly felt the love in her home and our cooking.
