Cerro verde national park and Coatepeque Lake

Roberto was excellent. Incredibly informative. Lunch on the lake was self pay, but an excellent value.

Francisco was an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the short hike and opportunity to stop at coffee shop at the top of volcano.

Great jungle experience at 7,000 feet! Casa 1800 hotel was awesome too! Hike the trails into the jungle on your own or take a tour guide… great fun!

I received the cancellation notice for this tour by email only, but nothing appeared in the Viator app. Because of that disconnect, we didn’t realize the tour was canceled until we arrived at the meeting point. I understand plans can change, but clearer in-app communication would have prevented the inconvenience and allowed us to adjust our itinerary sooner. I hope future cancellations are pushed reliably through both channels, as the tour itself looked great and we would have been happy to rebook.

Wonderful experience! We were traveling with our 8 month old and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The hike was fun and manageable with a little one (bring a carrier or hiking carrier if you have a small baby). We were prepared but just a heads up for any other travelers. We loved all of the stops on the tour ! Our guide, Oscar , was knowledgeable and very kind. He knew so much about El Salvador and his love for his country exudes in the way he speaks. We loved getting to know him and this beautiful country !

Great tour if you want to see the volcano without doing the hike. Beautiful views, cerro verde park has a 45m walking tour, easy pace. We really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and share a lot info about the sites and the culture.

This was a very nice and informative trip to Cereo Verde. Lake Coatepeque was beatifull FYI, the lake cruise is not included.

Everything as perfect as the rest of our trip through that excellent, although forgotten, country. Our relationship with the guide, Álex Padilla, a good knowledge of his country and its History, began as professional and ended in a cordial friendship.

This was a fantastic experience! There is a short 40 minute hike where you are able to see views of the Lago de Coatepeque. We went during a time when the lake turns turquoise and it was so beautiful. Lunch was also really great as the restaurant we went to was on the lake and there was an opportunity to jetski as well as ride the ferry. Overall this trip was a 10/10.

Francis was an excellent guide! Took us to know the volcanoes and the beautiful village of Izalco! He explained in detail history and made us feel comfortable. We learned so many things after not seeing my country for 20 years. I definitely return to take a tour with Francisco as we feel them as a family! It was very friendly as it gave us time to see the markets and buy food. Since it was 6 days that I went, the tour was one of my highlights of the trip. At first the plan was ruins but the park was closed. Francis immediately spoke to me to plan another place and gave me options. Time flew!!! We don't even feel the hours I was able to take so many beautiful photos! It is definitely worth it and the cost is very good. At no time did we feel rushed and everything was amazing! Thanks Francisco for your time and all your cooking and also for translating Spanish into English. We are ready for another tour!
