The communication between Adventure Tours and Viator customer was lacking. The meeting place at the pier was changed and we were not informed. There were only two seats left after running to meet the bus. Friends could not go. Scenery was boring. The cold wind was relentless. Shivering! Could not see what was pointed out. Pauses for pictures were way too short. Have used Viator in Europe and was always impressed. This was miserable!
The tour wasn’t spectacular. It was an average tour. I wouldn’t call the guide a “naturalist”. I guess we’ve seen much more interesting places with more wildlife.
Take this tour if you visit Catalina Island! The guide is very entertaining and talks about the island's history while you take in all of Catalina's beauty and snap some great photos. You can't miss it!
We booked a 0755 and when we arrived they did not have enough people sign up so they moved us to the 0920. We drove through the “inside” so fast we could not see anything. The tour guide was new and recited facts from movies and books she had read.
The vehicle was good and the sun was not an issue. J , our speaker, was absolutely great and made the experience enjoyable. Nice to travel outside the city. The road was definitely rough.
Tour not to bad. Would have been better to get more facts and Info on Catalina Island.
We got to see a buffalo on the tour, but the best part of the tour was learing about the Island itself - it's history, geography, and people. Our tour guide even sang to us a song he spent a lot of time researching from Avalon's history. He also takes the time, like a good teacher, to research questions he is asked and shared the answers he found with us.
The tour is along a beautiful dirt road along the length of the island. You'll see beautiful bays, hills, canyons, and hopefully wildlife. We saw six bison including a solo male and several cows with their calves. The tour guide gave a lot of great info and was incredibly friendly.
Jay, the guide was very helpful and provided a lot of information about the background of the island and helped make the tour enjoyable.
After traveling for one hour on an unpaved and very very bumpy mostly uphill winding road we saw one bison and one fox. The highlight of the trip was the rest stop at the airport. The return trip was on the exact same road. Also it was ten degrees cooler at the top of this mountain road. We noticed that other tour groups were given blankets.
