Went with my daughter and her friend while in Merida during March break. We love chocolate and it was sublime learning how to make it from the cacao bean. The hosts were lovely!
So happy to hear everyone loved our experience! It was a pleasure hosting you. ❤️🍫
Learning about the history of chocolate making in the region and how we get from bean to bar was a great experience!
So happy to hear you enjoyed our experience. It was a pleasure hosting, and extremely interesting chatting with you and learning about your perspective from inside the industry. ❤️ 🍫
This chocolate workshop was such a cool and different experience! We learned so much about the mayan process of making chocolate and chocolate's history in the region. Josh and Denise were so friendly and knowledgeable! We made a traditional cacao drink as well as our own chocolate bars to take home with us. Highly recommend if you'd like an educational hands on experience and love all things chocolate!
It was really great hosting your group. We are so glad everyone thoroughly enjoyed and walked away more knowledgeable about everything cacao and chocolate. ❤️ 🍫

We recently attended a hands-on chocolate-making workshop with Josh in Merida, and it was fantastic! Located close to Santa Lucia Park, the experience is designed and led by a very passionate young instructor and owner, who brought the ancient world of chocolate to life for us. We learned the history of chocolate in Mexico and the Yucatan. The highlight was recreating a 1400-year-old recipe discovered in a Mayan chief's tomb—Josh guided us step by step through preparing ingredients, mixing, grinding, smelling, tasting and shaping our own chocolate bars. It was fascinating and interactive! Beyond the fun, Josh shared tons of practical info: the health benefits of real chocolate, tips on reading labels to spot quality products, and where to source the best ones. We spent over two hours chatting about all things chocolate, making the session feel friendly and intimate. The best part? We got to eat our creations right there—fresh, authentic, and delicious! If you're in Merida, this workshop is highly recommended for anyone curious about chocolate. Josh's enthusiasm makes it unforgettable. 5/5 stars!
Thank you for such a wonderful review! We hope you visit again soon ❤️ 🍫
If you’re looking for something hands-on to do while in Merida, this is the perfect thing. Mix of everything, culture, history, food. So fun.
Appreciate the great review! ❤️ 🍫
We went the three generations of women on a weekend to Merida and decided to do something new and concentrate on visiting places of interactive and cultural education. Let’s choose this workshop that explains the history of cocoa through the time of the Mayans. I was really super fun to learn in a rustic way like they really did everything from the grain. Nowadays, we rarely stop to think about how things came to our plate, our house etc... that was an example of how easy it is today to buy a chocolate bar. Well thank you to Josh and Denise for that very nice time we spent with you and I hope you will keep teaching that class for much longer. That they will try loes will love!!! Carolina, Jessy, Nibrass and Arian 🍫❤️🍫❤️🍫❤️🍫❤️🍫❤️🍫
What a great hands-on experience making chocolate goodies! Josh is very knowledgeable about the whole process from growing cacao pods to the finished chocolate drinks and chocolate bars, and to conveying that knowledge to his workshop participants. Don't miss this Best-Kept-Secret Experience if you're in the Mérida, Mexico area.
Thank you for this wonderful review! We hope you visit again soon ❤️ 🍫
