Itinerary
Step into one of the most mysterious and historically significant sites of the ancient world. The Tophet of Carthage is a sacred Phoenician burial ground dating back to the 8th century BC, where urns containing the ashes of children and animals were ceremonially interred. Stroll among the ancient stelae, carved stone markers etched with dedications to the gods Baal Hammon and Tanit, and feel the weight of thousands of years of history beneath your feet. Your guide will bring this enigmatic site to life, sharing the latest archaeological discoveries and the ongoing debates that make Carthage one of the most fascinating civilizations of antiquity.
Catch a glimpse of what was once the most powerful naval port in the ancient Mediterranean as you pass by the legendary Punic Ports of Carthage. These two remarkable harbors, one circular for the navy and one rectangular for commerce, once sheltered hundreds of warships that made Carthage the dominant sea power of its time. A fascinating sight that speaks volumes about the might and ingenuity of the Carthaginian civilization.
Walk through the breathtaking ruins of the largest Roman baths ever built on African soil. The Baths of Antoninus stand as a testament to the grandeur of Roman Carthage, with towering columns and vast foundations stretching along the seafront. Your guide will paint a vivid picture of what this monumental complex looked like in its heyday, when thousands of Carthaginians gathered here daily to bathe, socialize, and conduct business, all against the stunning backdrop of the Mediterranean Sea.
Marvel at the ancient Carthage Roman Theatre, a beautifully restored venue that once entertained thousands of spectators with plays, musical performances, and public events. Carved into the hillside with sweeping views over the city, this impressive structure is a vivid reminder of the vibrant cultural life that thrived in Roman Carthage. Your guide will walk you through its rich history, from its origins in antiquity to its modern revival as a stage for the renowned Carthage International Festival.
Climb to the heart of ancient Carthage atop Byrsa Hill, the legendary citadel where the great city was said to have been founded by Queen Dido. From this elevated vantage point, enjoy sweeping panoramic views over the Gulf of Tunis while exploring the remarkably preserved ruins of a Punic neighborhood dating back to the 2nd century BC. The adjacent Carthage National Museum houses an outstanding collection of Phoenician and Roman artifacts that bring the full sweep of Carthaginian civilization to life.
Wander through the enchanting blue and white village of Sidi Bou Said, perched high above the Mediterranean with breathtaking views over the Gulf of Tunis. Lose yourself in the narrow cobblestone streets lined with jasmine-draped doorways, vibrant bougainvillea, and charming artisan boutiques. The highlight of your visit is a well-deserved break at one of the village’s iconic cafés, where you will sip traditional mint tea or freshly brewed coffee while soaking in the timeless beauty of one of Tunisia’s most beloved destinations.

Moisés is a great guide! He picked us up near our hotel with a proper car. Then dove us to Cartage and showed us the main ruins giving interesting information (in an excellent Spanish) about each point. We really enjoyed the whole tour, talking with Moisés and learn about the amazing history Tunisia has. Visiting the ruins without a proper guide like him and by car could be a mistake. Distances between the points are not walking distances! This experience really worth it!! Thank you Moisés!
Moses is spectacular. Beautiful tour, full of information, history, and culture of Carthage. Highly recommended!

An excellent experience, in particular the personal attention and friendly personality of our guide. He really knows his history and interesting contemporary aspects, in fluid French and Spanish.
An incredible afternoon spent with Moisés at the archaeological sites of Carthage. I recommend it if you want to discover the places with someone passionate, warm, and attentive! We learned a lot, thank you again, it was incredible
Moses was charming. He guided us throughout the entire day with great professionalism and helped us a lot during our visit to Tunisia and Carthage. I totally recommend it
Moses is a great guide; he provided us with clothing to enter the mosque and took us to learn about the history of Carthage.
The tour was very organized and interesting. Recommend it!
It was an extraordinary experience! First, I want to highlight Moïses' great kindness. We had difficulty reaching the meeting point, as no taxi seemed available. After 10 to 15 minutes of delay and several false hopes, Moïses even came to pick us up by car. This gesture was extremely appreciated and allowed us to start the tour under the best conditions. We enjoyed the tour of Carthage and Moïses' explanations so much that we decided to change our plans to join his tour of Tunis the next day. Moïses has an impressive knowledge of Tunisian history, culture, and traditions. Above all, he shares his knowledge in a lively, engaging, and accessible manner. I love learning the little anecdotes, historical details, and all those "easter eggs" that one would never notice when visiting a tourist site by oneself. And, to top it all off, while we were looking for a place to eat on our first day, we finally had the chance to dine with Moïses and his mother at an excellent local restaurant at a very reasonable price. It was a beautiful moment of exchange that allowed us to discover Tunisia from an even more authentic perspective. Thank you so much, Moïses, for showing us a part of your country with such passion and generosity. Looking forward to doing more outings together, including that famous day at the beach! 😊
It was an excellent experience; the guide Moise told us many things about the history of Carthage. We also visited the village of Sidi Bou Said, which is a very beautiful town on a global scale. Thank you, Moise.
