Itinerary
Join us for this 3-hour long food tour across this Mediterranean gem: Cadiz! You will enjoy a delicious walking tapas tour in at least 4 stops. All food included! Please, bear in mind that the tastings here described may change according to the season and the availabilities of our partners.
On the way to the first stop, you'll see the ruins of the Roman Theatre of Cádiz, one of the largest ever built in the Roman Empire. Dating back to 70 B.C., it could host around 10,000 guests.
After this first historical stop, we’ll head to the Central Market, where locals run their errands and buy fresh ingredients to cook at home. Here you'll enjoy pescaíto frito, a culinary treasure showcasing the region's love for fresh seafood. This dish features a delightful assortment of small fish—often including tiny whitebait and anchovies—lightly battered and fried to golden perfection. The result is a crispy, addictive treat bursting with ocean flavor!
You'll pass by Torre Tavira, an 18th-century tower that hosts panoramic viewpoints and exhibition rooms, on your way to our next stop: one of the city’s most traditional bakeries and pastry shops, founded in 1961. Here, you’ll discover some sweet treats to take away and enjoy at the end of your tour—finishing on a sweet note!
Plaza de San Antonio is one of the most central squares in town, full of political and patriotic meaning. In fact, here in 1812 the Constitution was promulged! Nearby, you will visit a tapas bar where you'll taste tapas like Papas aliñás: a delicious and refreshing twist on potato salad that perfectly captures the essence of Andalusian cuisine. These tender, boiled potatoes are lovingly tossed with a vibrant mix of olive oil, vinegar, fresh parsley, and a sprinkle of salt, creating a dish that’s both simple and bursting with flavor. Often adorned with capers or onions, papas aliñás are the perfect accompaniment to seafood or enjoyed on their own as a light snack. With their delightful combination of textures and zesty notes, they offer a taste of the sunny Mediterranean right on your plate!
Plaza de Mina is one of the most emblematic and greenest squares in the city, thanks to its stunning 18th- and 19th-century buildings and lush vegetation—some trees are over 100 years old! Nearby, enjoy a range of local tapas in a restaurant offering authentic Andalusian flavors.
We will come back near the starting point, the majestic Cadiz City Hall with its white facade and its surrounding monuments, such as the Arco del Populo or the San Juan de Dios Church. In a local shop nearby, we will end our culinary adventure with a taste of sherry, the traditional drink from Cadiz. Raise a glass to Andalusian cuisine!

Excellent guide. Very informative and interesting commentary in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The food selection was really nice. It was good to try some new things and to see parts of the city we hadn't yet visited. A great trip :)
This was a really enjoyable tour, Estrella was a fantastic fun guide with lots of interesting information on the food, history and culture. The food portions were really generous so make sure you are hungry when you come. Wear comfortable shoes and bring a fan.
Great experience with super guide
We had a fabulous time on the Cadiz food tour. Carla was amazing. Thank you, Carla from the Almeida family
Estrella was an amazing guide who has a professional background as a chef and was able to speak with authority about cooking techniques and produce. She also gave us a very informative walking tour of historic sights and took us past beautiful buildings, streets and squares. She has a great personality and made the whole experience fun. I would highly recommend Estrella's tour.
Estrella was a fantastic tour guide. She had a lot of enthusiasm and was very happy and full of information. She showed us a lot of the historical sites while we tried some different foods of Cadiz. The dog shark was delicious! I highly recommend booking with Estrella if you are touring Cadiz.
Estrella was wonderful and very entertaining. She showed us a lot of lovely buildings and had lots to tell us about the history of Cadiz.
It was a very nice experience, also thanks to our guide Carla who made it very enjoyable and interesting. I recommend it.
Judy was our guide for food/beverages/history of cadiz. She was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful not only on the tour but for suggestions afterwards. She was flexible about our restaurants based on pur food choices. She was a native english speaker. Judy was terrific and i would highly recommend her and this tour.
Judy our guide has lived in Cadiz for over 40 years and was very knowledgeable of both the history of the area and the different eating establishments to cater for all tastes - including gluten free - and where to go depending on the time of day. We enjoyed everything from the traditional meats and cheeses through to gluten free biscuits and shrimp fritters - I would recommend this as a good start to your holiday so you know where to go from the start of your holiday rather than trying to do it yourself.
