Best thing is that it is a local guide. Zus shared about his life on the island in addition to the sites we saw. He was masterful at avoiding the crowds at Santorini.
While other cruise passengers were stuck in a 2-hour queue for the sky tram, we were already on our way to Oia. This tour is managed with high efficiency. It maximizes your time on land, making it far superior to the generic excursions offered by the cruise lines.
This tour gives you total peace of mind. They know the island inside out, track the ship schedules, and ensure you get back comfortably without relying on the unpredictable tram lines at the end of the day.
It was a perfect blend of everything on the island. They even took us to tram at end so we could walk down or ride tram. Victor was our tour guide and he was phenomenal!! Full of info and charming!!!
We had a great tour with Yianni! He got us to all the photo-worthy spots on the island (of which there were many) and packed in lots of information along the way. The skip the line option was also great for avoiding cable cars.
Zeus was a phenomenal tour guide. He had lots to share, making it interesting. The driver Ulysses was careful and friendly
This tour was very rushed. We spent most of the time in the van. I think you would enjoy your trip more taking the cable car (which moves quickly) and explore on your own or get a taxi.
We regret to hear that our services did not meet your expectations. Please allow us to address the concerns raised: 1. Cable cars do move quickly once boarded; however, the waiting line to board them may take more than an hour, and on days with several cruise ships in Santorini, it can take even longer. 2. Taxis may be available in Fira, but this route would likely cost at least twice as much as the tour you booked, while also offering no guiding service or commentary, as taxi services do not include that. 3. Our tours follow a standard itinerary and pace. Free time in Oia and Perivolos alone is approximately two hours, in addition to sightseeing at other stops. Therefore, we are unable to agree that more time was spent in the vehicle than outside it. Safe and happy travels, assuming you are a true traveler and not simply a cable car supporter. :-)
Best way to not only skip the cable car but to see so much of Santorini. We had a great guide, George, he shared so much about life on the island. He kept us on time and entertained.
Tour itself was excellent, despite rainy weather. However, the logistics with the agency left a lot to be desired. We got a message less than 24 hours in advance moving the time up two hours, which conflicted with another tour we had scheduled. So, while in the tour the day before at another island, I was distracted trying to manage the logistics for the next day. Additionally, this tour is listed as 4-5 hours, and it ended up being more than 6 hours. I had moved the other tour to later in the day, but we weren’t going to be back when I expected, so again was distracted trying to arrange things. The guide, Alex, helped to facilitate a smooth transfer, but all could have been avoided in the first place with accurate information up front. All of that said, it was convenient not having to worry about getting on the cable cars, and Alex and the driver Spyros did an excellent job of showing us the highlights of Santorini, even if they were a little soggy!
We were one of the first groups to reach Oia because we didn't have to wait for the cable car. Having that head start was everything! We got our pictures at the blue domes before the massive crowds arrived. The driver was very punctual and the van was super clean. If you want to maximize your time in Santorini and minimize the stress, this is the perfect tour.
