Efficient bus into park and lovely boat ride through lakes with good commentary from guide. We then walked out over the gap - a good workout for us older folks but fun and very beautiful
This tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland. After having plenty of time to explore Ross Castle, we got to take a boat through the lakes. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared so many interesting things about the national park. Upon arrival at Lord Brandon’s cottage we had enough time to eat a quick lunch, before setting off on our hike through the Gap of Dunloe. We had plenty of time to complete the hike, before being picked up at Kate Kearney’s Cottage and taken back to Killarney. I highly recommend going on this tour. It was such a great adventure!
A great experience! Taken by bus from downtown Killarney to Kate Kearney's Cottage. Wonderful walk through the Gap of Dunloe to Lord Brandons. There after picnic by boat sailed over the Killarney lakes to Ross Castle. A wonderful tour! Highly recommended!
Overall, the boat and hike was a 10/10 experience. The boat guide was very kind and gave very interesting explanations of everything we saw and we had a lovely time on the boat. The hike itself was absolutely lovely, my best experience since being in Ireland with absolutely gorgeous views. However, I may recommend doing this tour with a different company due to the behavior of our bus driver. Our driver, Tadgh O’Connor, who has asked us to review this tour, made a racist comment to one of my friends I am traveling with. He asked where she was from, and he then offhandedly told her that he knows that there are a lot of Asians in California. (She is not from California nor had she mentioned anything about California, she had stated she was from Sydney) Additionally, he offered to drive us to the airport to catch our flight after the tour. The way he worded it, we assumed he was doing us a big favor and that the ride would be free. He did not disclose he would expect payment and even rushed us after the tour to get to the airport, and because we assumed he was doing us a big solid, we operated on his schedule rather than ours. However, when we got to the airport he asked for €45. When we explained our confusion and asked for a slightly cheaper price, he lied and told us any uber or taxi would charge even more. When we checked uber to fact check him, we saw all Ubers charged around €30. Had we known he was going to charge us so much and rush us to the airport, we would have just taken an uber instead.
Beautiful experience by boat and then by foot through the Gap of Dunloe. Comfortable to be picked up at the fixed meeting point to go by coach. It can also pick up and leave the clients at the nearby hotels and accomodations. The boat tour was great, beautiful nature and the weather was fine. The walk is not very complicated. Went with kids 8 and 12, everyone is fine. The road was very crowded, though, between the hikers, the cyclists, the jaunting cars and the cars the road is very busy. Recomend to go.
We parked at Kate kearney's Cottage and walk the Gap of Dunlow. The views were spectacular. We started about 850-900am and only saw 2 other people. later into the walk we saw bikers, a few hikers, a few car, and jaunting cars. lots of sheep and some private homes during the walk. Bridges and some babbling brooks along the way. Once we got to Lord Brandon's Cottage we took the boat trip at 2pm to Ross castle. It was about 1hr 15 min. very nice ride on the lake. A boat driver was very nice. Then a bus took us back to our care at Kate's Cottage. It was a wonderful day. we had great weather. I would highly recommend this company
Great hike through the Gap of Dunloe - then nice boat trip over the Killarney lakes. Highly recommended!
The tour started with a bummer that they don’t actually send the bus they show you in the advert. We were looking forward to it and it was quite disappointing. Rest of the tour was nice. It was a lovely trek as they described and the boat tour pick you up at the end and then tour you across lakes of Killarney which is quite nice. Boat tour guys were quite nice and went out of their way to make sure no one was left behind which was quite sweet! The bus driver was quite annoying and wanted to end the tour early and was not ready to give allocated time for Ross castle which honestly annoyed us to the core as there is not a lot of public transport and ways to head back to city after. Even the cabs are in short supply.
Nice ride, well led. Very good Price quality ratio. If you don't have much time or don't have the courage to walk 3h, the carriage is a good investment, it seemed worth it because it comes with good discussions with the driver who explains a lot about the Gap. The boat part is different, refreshing and finally you feel like you can see a lot in one day, the kids (9 and 6) loved it. The place is beautiful, our favorite visit to Ireland... Not to be missed!
Great tour in itself ... BUT never again with this provider!!! The booked tour was Bus&Boat Tour for the Gap of Dunloe. - the pick up didn't work so we ended up having to park completely stressed in the city for 11€ a day. - the handed out flyer included the sequence for the reverse route so the times were incorrect . At the end of the tour, the tour is finished at 3:20 p.m. instead of 4:00 p.m. You'd rather organize the tour yourself !!! - Then the bus 30' starts too late, which is why we ended up with less time for the hike . Episode : we just came to the boat completely stressed and had not even taken a break. - back on the bus it goes straight back to the city. No time to look at the nice castle. Absolutely bad organization and bad time management from start to finish !
