Fun experience

It was a wonderful experience with Mesi as our guide and leader. We learned so much about the central market and then back at the apartment she were again amazed with her knowledge and expertise. We did this class with out 3 couples and there were 5 others that joined the group. We all had a fun afternoon eating drinking and learning about Hungarian foods and cooking.

Niki was absolutely FABULOUS! We had a great time and a super friendly experience!

This is such a great way to meet someone local, enjoy a nice visit while learning about the local food and culture. The market visit was quite informational and we went back after class to buy from the local suppliers! We all (5) really enjoyed our time with Niki. She was happy to answer all our questions and give other suggestions of places to visit. Even though we make paprikash csirke at home, the tips and tricks were worth the visit. Just a super experience all around, highly recommend!

Fun class and interesting information

The tour of the market was quick, the guide bought the food that was prearranged for her to pick up. She shared information about the place and the food with a nice informational talk afterward about Hungary in general. The walk moved quickly through the market and to the apartment where she cooked Chicken Paprikas and it was delicious! The our is not recommended for anyone with physical disabilities or trouble walking and you have to keep up with the group or you could get lost! One of our friends was having trouble walking and there was no grace and there were steps involved also. The guide was nice and we all had fun cooking.

Amazing experience

The whole activity is well balanced and interesting. We started at the market hall and purchased ingredients for the class. The guide - Emma - shared some context and history with us. Then we headed to the apartment that was cozy and locally-styled and had our cooking class. Everybody was involved in the process and we enjoyed the activity a lot. I highly recommend this class!

Highly recommend

I recommend the Foodapest market tour and cooking class in Budapest! It was a fun way to taste local flavors, meet the vendors selling the fresh ingredients and get hands on with the cooking in the small and friendly group. We sat down all around the large table eating the generous servings of chicken paprikash, knodeln, pickled veggies and plenty of wines. We left feeling like we had made friends and learned a lot!

Excellent Cooking Culture Class!

I had a lovely late afternoon/early evening experience learning to cook Hungarian Paprishka with egg noodles and a delicious poppy seed bread pudding with vanilla sauce. Niki was a very engaging teacher with a great sense of humor. Our small group of 4 had a great time sampling appetizers and wine, cooking our dinner and dessert, and enjoying each other's company as we did so. I left feeling very nourished by the delicious food, the exposure to Hungarian food and social culture, and the companionship of my fellow students. After class I took a lovely walk heading north along the Pest side of the Danube. Budapest is a vibrant city at sunset with locals and visitors enjoying a stroll along the river. The waterfront music scene was pretty cool too. I highly recommend the cooking class and taking a walk along the river afterwards.
