Itinerary
We spend the first part of the tour along one of the most exciting restaurant districts of Brooklyn. Wandering up and down Smith Street in Carroll Gardens, we stop into many of the local mom and pop businesses.
- As we stroll through this picturesque neighborhood we learn how it got its name, about its history as an Italian and Irish heritage neighborhood, and how the waterfront helped transform it. We meet residents and shop owners and taste some great pastries.
This historic district features some of the most beautiful brownstones in all of Brooklyn. Feel like a local as we wander through the residential streets and beautiful parks. Admire the architecture and visit many of the mom and pop businesses in the neighborhood.
We just touch on the southern end of this historic neighborhood by walking down the main commercial street of Atlantic Avenue. Here we get a sense of how locals shop by visiting one of the legendary Middle Eastern bakeries.
At the end of the tour, you'll be lucky enough to enjoy a homemade chocolate tasting. Each bite offers a delightful burst of flavor and exquisite craftsmanship.

Everything was great except that the tour company never communicated the meeting Location to the guide. Therefore, the official tour emails directed me to a meeting Location different where the tour guide was expecting us.
This tour involves a lot of walking and talking about food but little tasting of the food. For example, we went to a butcher shop that selled kangaroo meat, but we didn't actually get to taste the meat.
Sara was a great host and while we booked the tour to enjoy a food based experience, it was great to hear the history of the Brooklyn precinct and the community connection of the business and their owners. Would highly recommend this tour
Had a great time. Sara was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Great way to explore Brooklyn!
Lots of fun and interesting information.
Sarah is a big nerd, accurately self proclaimed. She brought life into the streets as we moved from destination to destination. Not only was she a wealth of knowledge, she could share that information in a way that was interesting. She is animated and professional. I would definitely go on another tour with her. Thank you Sarah
Nice walking food tour with a little bit of history in Cobble Hills. Lovely local food establishments.
Sara was terrific, combining her knowledge of both food and the history in Cobble Hill. I give her 5 stars. I only rate it 4 stars as I wish on a couple stops we had choices (particularly with the Greek place and the type of topping on our bagel as I’m not a cream cheese fan). Otherwise, it was fun and enjoyed the others on the tour with us.
Tour guide was very wordy…could have condensed this tour to 2 hours. We seemed to be walking in circles. Food choices were just so-so.
Dear Barbara, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, Barbara. We're sorry to hear that you felt the tour could have been more concise and that the food selections didn't meet your expectations. Our aim is to provide an engaging experience that strikes the right balance between storytelling, sightseeing and local flavours, and we're sorry this wasn't your experience. We've shared your feedback with our local team so they can consider it as part of their ongoing review of the tour.
Lovely few hours with our group and guide, Sara. Lots of good food at local and long lived establishments. Heard a bit about Brooklyn history. Beautiful neighborhood!
