Itinerary
After meeting the guide at the designated spot in Copacabana, we will ride to downtown Rio. On the way, we will receive a brief overview of the day's itinerary and enjoy a panoramic sightseeing.
Upon arriving downtown, we will continue exploring key landmarks such as the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB), the Candelária Church, historic areas of old Rio de Janeiro, and the Church of Our Lady of Carmo of the Old Cathedral. Take a moment for a quick snack break and enjoy exploring this renowned cultural center. This segment of the tour offers a rich blend of art, history, and architecture and will last approximately one hour.
Embark on a 1-hour boat tour through Guanabara Bay aboard a historic Brazilian naval ship, either the World War I tugboat Laurindo Pitta or the Escuna Nogueira da Gama. This scenic journey showcases Rio's iconic landmarks, including the majestic Sugarloaf Mountain, Fortaleza da Lage, and the beaches of Adão and Eva. Admire the modernist Museu de Arte Contemporânea (MAC), the historic Fortaleza São João and Fortaleza Santa Cruz, and the picturesque beaches of Icaraí, São Francisco, and Jurujuba. Conclude with the serene beauty of Ilha de Boa Viagem, combining natural splendor with historical insights.
Then hop on the ferry for a 10-minute ride to the “Fiscal Island” and the Palace on it. The Palace was the setting for the event that became known as “The Last Ball of the Empire”, held a few days before the Proclamation of the Republic. Visit the halls, the turret and the permanent exhibitions while hear stories about the charming Palace that used to be described by the Emperor Dom Pedro II as the “brilliant jewel”. Get to know the tales of one of the best rulers of Brazil, perhaps the best, Emperor Dom Pedro II. In addition, learn about the contributions of the Navy to the development of the country.
Return to the Mainland with a Focus on Scenery: - During the return crossing, appreciate and comment on the beautiful landscapes of Guanabara Bay as we make our way back to the Copacabana neighborhood.

Camila met me promptly at the designated meeting point! I was surprised to learn I was the only person on the tour! It was a very personalized and memorable experience from start to finish! She peppered me with interesting and fun facts about geography, history, culture, gastronomy, etc! She was a consummate professional and very accommodating throughout our day together! Who lives in Rio de Janeiro...never forget...Rio with all its weak points of violence... does not exceed all that the city has to offer... really is the wonderful city.

Camila went above and beyond. She seemed to know everyone, which helped us navigate some confusion the Navy had with respect to our tickets. Fiscal Island and the bay tour were fantastic! Camila provided a ton of interesting history and context. She asked questions about what we had and hadn’t seen, and modified the trip accordingly. To top it all off, she gave me a sash from her team, Fluminense, because I am a massive soccer fan. Top notch tour guide and top notch tour!

Wow, what an amazing day we had with Camila seeing the sites of Rio. Camila was so friendly, accommodating and gracious. She expertly guided us throughout Rio. We had an amazing time at the Ilha Fiscal and on the boat ride around the Harbour. We saw several other incredible sights, such as the monestary, Church of Candelaria, among others. Camila graciously took us to see Marcaña stadium too! We concluded the day with an amazing meal at Parada de Copa. I shall recommend this tour to friends and colleagues visiting Rio. This is an amazing experience. We spent the day with our guide Eva and she was incredible. Eva is very energetic and knowledgeable. This trip where they take you for a boat ride around the harbor, then you take a short bus ride to the castle. It is worth your time to do this trip. We are very happy that we decided to book through this company.
