It is one of the highlights of Cajas National Park, located in the province of Azuay, Ecuador. It offers a unique experience for nature lovers.
Laguna Toreadora is one of the largest and most prominent lagoons in the park, located at an altitude of approximately 3,900 meters above sea level. This glacial lagoon is surrounded by a mountainous moorland landscape that offers spectacular views and a reassuring experience in nature, plus we pass the Interpretation Center, which presents a variety of interactive exhibits including models, information panels and digital screens. These exhibits cover topics such as park geography, the water cycle and wildlife in this ecosystem.
The place is of great natural beauty, considered as the Garden of the Blessed Virgin, called its “bit of Heaven”. It is worth the visit, even if you are not a Catholic or believer in these events. If they wish, pilgrims can bring empty bottles to collect water from the spring next to the shrine (it is considered holy water with spiritual properties).
Hosteria Dos Chorreras offers a unique experience of accommodation in a natural environment, with facilities designed to provide comfort while maintaining the connection with the beauty of the Andean landscape. The name "Dos Chorreras" refers to the two waterfalls found nearby, which add a special touch to the environment. In the same way you can taste the local cuisine and visit the chocolate shop where you will find a variety of desserts made with national cocoa.

Consult with the operator about hotel pick-up, which are not shown in the list described above. Be ready 30 minutes before the trip outside the locations from which we will pick you up, we will park our units in front of the locations where we must pick you up, from there we will head to our offices and once we finish picking up the passengers who are in our offices we will start with our trip.

I had a great experience with Cuenca Tour 360 on their 4-hour Cajas National Park tour. For just $25, it was an excellent value, we saw all the major attractions in the park, and there were absolutely no hidden fees or surprise charges. Our guide, Juan, was knowledgeable, organized, and explained everything clearly throughout the tour. I especially appreciated that there was no forced shopping, no pressure to leave a TripAdvisor review, and no tourist traps. Everything was well planned and professionally run. I usually don’t enjoy organized tours, but this company changed my mind. If I take another tour in the Cuenca area, I’ll definitely book with Cuenca Tour 360 again. Highly recommended!

This tour is very convenient; I did it with my mother, and it seemed perfect for us. We were well bundled up as well.
More of a guided drive to three short spots to look at, and a long stop at an overpriced restaurant.
