Bordeaux City Highlights Walking Tour

Description
Explore the heart of one of France's most beautiful cities with a local expert guide. Choose a shared or private walking tour which takes you through Bordeaux's UNESCO-listed historic centre, uncovering the stories behind its grand 18th-century architecture, iconic landmarks, and vibrant street life. You'll visit the city's most celebrated highlights, including Place de la Bourse and the famous Miroir d'Eau, the Gothic spires of Saint-André Cathedral, the elegant Porte Cailhau, and the Grand Théâtre — one of Europe's finest neoclassical opera houses. Along the way, your guide will bring Bordeaux's history to life, from its Roman origins and role in the global wine trade to its dramatic 18th-century transformation under urban planner Tourny. Groups are kept small to ensure a personal experience with plenty of time for questions. The shared group tour guides work on a tips-only basis, so you pay what you feel the experience was worth at the end.

Bordeaux having extreme heat- did not go on this tour
My English is far from being top-notch, but I still hoped to understand the guide, BUT I did not understand anything due to his Irish accent! Moreover, unlike a similar experience in Lyon, I did not find this one interesting. No overview of the city and the history of Bordeaux. It was too specific.
Cancelled at the last minute - wasted our time
It was brilliant. Mark, the Irish guide living in Bordeaux, was excellent, entertaining and super knowledgeable. Fabulous short tour and highly recommended.
I booked this company for a private walking tour in Bordeaux for 6 people on June 11th. Mark ( HandMedina Co. Tours) sent me a receipt for the deposit back in January confirming my booking. On June 10th, Mark sent me a text message asking me to confirm if we are going ahead with the tour. I responded yes and informed him that there will be 8 people instead of six. I did not get a response back from Mark. Thinking positively, I gave him the benefit of the doubt that perhaps he was busy. We decided to show up at the meeting point on June 11th at 10:00 am. I sent him text messages but no response. I called his phone number twice. My call was rejected. There is a risk when doing business with someone you don't know. In my experience, 99.9% of the time things go well. This is the one exception. Mark must be having a bad day not to have the decency to respond to my text messages back to him. He initiated the text conversation. He could have at least sent a message informing me that he was not able to do the tour. But he was having a bad day so he chose to be unprofessional. Anyway, I wish him well in his future endeavors. And for those considering his services, I hope he's not having a bad day when it's your tour.
An informative 100-minute tour with the dedicated Tamy, who conveyed her love for Bordeaux.
Superb tour under very nice guidance. We received a great overview and were able to explore the city well afterward, thanks to further recommendations. Thank you very much :)
We had a wonderful walking tour of Bordeaux with Tammi! She was incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history, local insight, and hidden gems along the way. You could tell she truly knows Bordeaux inside and out. She navigated the city effortlessly and made getting around easy and enjoyable, which allowed us to relax and fully take in the experience. Tammi’s enthusiasm and expertise brought the city to life. We left feeling like we not only saw Bordeaux, but truly experienced it.
A great way to see and hear about the history of Bordeaux without having to listen to the information in 2 languages
