Eight of us waited for over an hour (got there fifteen minutes early) and the tour guide never showed. Four of us booked through Trip Advisor and four booked directly through the company. Trip Advisor answered the phone, but they couldn’t get in touch with the company. It was very disappointing since it was our first morning in Bordeaux and we were looking forward to breakfast and learning some history. I got an email later in the day from the tour operator, stating that the tour guide wasn’t able to make it that morning and asking if my group would like to do it the following morning. Of course, we had other plans and couldn’t. I haven’t received a refund from Trip Advisor yet, but I feel as though the company should have at least offered the tour for free or something comparable. Very disappointing!
Hi Pamela, As communicated to you, the guide who was supposed to run your tour did not show up and we have taken the necessary actions against this individual. We are extremely sorry for this experience. This is a unique experience in our tour's history and will never be repeated again. A full refund was issued promptly which can take a few day to arrive in your account. We hope you were still able to enjoy your time in Bordeaux. Sincerely, Nikesh
This tour was incredible. I expected a great pastry tour, but there was so much more to it than that, it was a completely immersive dive into the history of Bordeaux. We visited different bakeries, and every single stop was out of this world. The tour is 3+ hours long, and even in the heat, our guide, Nikesh kept things so engaging and interesting that my attention span never wavered for a second. If you want to taste amazing treats while genuinely learning about the city’s past, do not skip this tour!
Excellent tour with great food from 4 boulangeries around different suburbs of Bordeaux. Great history and loved to meet new people
Lots of walking so wear comfortable shoes. The weather was very hot that day. Be prepared with water and sunscreen.
This was a great tour! Nikesh was a font of knowledge about Bordeaux’s history, architecture and most importantly its many boulangeries. He made sure we saw the most important and historic sites while also taking us off the beaten path to find some very cool and delicious gems. History and pastries are clearly Nikesh’s passions, and it shows in this fantastic tour.
Great experience, knowledgeable and friendly tour guide who went above and beyond our expectations. Tasty pastry with a touch of history sprinkled in.
A very disappointing experience that did not meet our expectations according to the description presented on your site. This experience boils down to tasting pastries in a few bakeries. Our guide, who was a substitute, was unable to follow the proposed schedule and did not confidently answer several of our questions. The visit lacked structure, and to learn more about the history of the visited bakeries and the neighborhoods, we had to initiate the questions and sometimes did not receive answers... In short, it was really not a guided tour, but more of a stroll from one bakery to another. We had signed up for a guided tour in French, and to our disappointment, the group was mixed, consisting of both English and French speakers. The value for money was really not there.
Mathilde was an exceptional guide . Made the walking tour a delight . We ate numerous bread and pastries along our route with a welcome coffee break . Lots of interesting information from Mathilde as we wondered the streets of Bordeaux. Mathilde had a great personality and I would say she is probably one of the best guides we have ever had on any organised tour. She made sure all of the group were engaged and involved throughout the tour. A great way to discover Bordeaux.
Great pastry tour with loads of information on the walks. Best way to see the city and get some great tips along the way - see things you’d never see otherwise! Well worth the money would recommend.
Nikesh was very knowledgeable and good. Sometimes it was hard to hear what he was saying without a microphone. There were long walks between stops with no explanations and we were expecting a bit more personable experience from the boulangery owners.
