Great tour

The trip was amazing. Our guide, Javed, was superb. He had precise and detailed knowledge about every place we visited. Javed was also very supportive and well-educated. Coming from Kerala, this was a very unique and different trip for me. It gave me a great opportunity to see and learn about places of historical importance in India.

Mumbai Diaries – Where Every Street Whispers a Story

Some experiences aren’t just tours… they are journeys into the soul of a city. My walk with Khaki Tours Mumbai felt exactly like that. With Neville as our storyteller, Mumbai didn’t just stand before us—it spoke to us. We began at the graceful steps of Asiatic Society of Mumbai, where history quietly rests between pillars and pages, and walked our way through time until we reached the timeless embrace of the Gateway of India. Every corner held a secret, every building a memory, and every story unfolded like a forgotten poem waiting to be heard. Neville’s narration was not just informative—it was alive, weaving facts into feelings, making us see Mumbai not just with our eyes, but with our hearts. What we gained was more than knowledge—it was a deeper connection to the city, to its past, and to its spirit. If you wish to truly feel Mumbai, not just see it… this walk is where you begin.

Operator response

Great to hear you had such a wonderful experience with Khaki Tours! It sounds like the walk really brought Mumbai’s history and spirit to life. We are so glad you enjoyed exploring India and hope those memories stay with you for a long time.

Fabulous introduction to Mumbai

This is an excellent way to get your bearings in Mumbai. The tour is relaxed and friendly, and covers a lot of ground. The guide provided interesting info, and answered any question. It's pretty hot and sweaty in Mumbai. Bring water, and remember to drink it!

Operator response

A great and fascinating tour with Chetan.

Chetan was a brilliant guide, we first started off at The Gateway of India with its intricate latticework and fascinating history. It was interesting too to see the Taj Hotel. We travelled on the bus and took a taxi ride back near to our hotel and walked to the very busy Colaba street market selling everything! My favourite part of the tour was the huge Maharaj Terminus Station with its stunning architecture. 8 million people pass through this station daily. Also admiring Prince Arthur’s house. Thank you Chetan for your fascinating tour. David and Rose

Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you again on another tour of the city.

Authentic, respectful and eye-opening

We did the Dharavi tour with Reality Tours & Travel and we are impressed. Our guide not only guided us through the narrow streets, but also explained the complex economic and social structures of this 'city district within the city' in detail and in a differentiated way. The ethical approach is particularly noteworthy: As an NGO, 80% of profits go directly to local education projects. If you want to understand Mumbai beyond its shiny facades without falling into voyeuristic 'slum tourism', this is the place to be. Absolutely recommend!

Operator response

Thank you very much for this thoughtful and generous feedback. We’re truly glad to hear that the tour left such a strong impression and that our guide was able to convey the complex social and economic issues of Dharavi in a meaningful way. Your appreciation of our ethical approach and commitment to supporting local education projects means a great deal to us. We’re grateful for the recommendation and hope to welcome you again in the future.
