Blue Safari: ride near Perito Moreno

Description
I lived the Blue Safari: a unique experience next to the Perito Moreno Glacier Designed for those who dream of coming face to face with ice, this tour combines sailing, hiking and an intimate connection with one of the most imposing glaciers in the world. The adventure begins in El Calafate with the transfer to Los Glaciares National Park. From Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, we cross Lake Rico by boat and, after a 20-minute sailing, disembark in front of the majestic south wall of the glacier. Along a guided walk of 11⁄2 hours, we skirt the ice enjoying spectacular views and the possibility of witnessing landslides that shake the landscape. As we reach the edge of the glacier, we will have time to take in its intense shades of blue and white, and capture memories with incredible photographs. A contemplative, exciting and close excursion to the wildest nature of Patagonia. Booked with Patagonia Dreams and lived the ice like never before.

Itinerary
The adventure begins in El Calafate, from where we set off by bus to Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arriving at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, just 7 km from the walkways, we embark to cross Lake Rico. After a 20-minute sailing between floes and crystal clear waters, we disembark on the opposite shore of the lake, ready to begin an unforgettable hike.
For the next 30 minutes, we will advance along a nature trail surrounded by forest and sand, always with the imposing south wall of Perito Moreno Glacier in front of our eyes. At every turn, the blue tones of the ice, the whimsical formations and the rumbling of some close detachment will remind us that we are facing one of the most striking natural wonders on the planet.
The total route of the hike is about 1 1/2 hours, on a mixed terrain of sand, stones and stairs, traveling 1.5 km of coast and native forest. When you reach the point closest to the glacier, you will have time to contemplate its vastness, take pictures and be surprised by its energy.
Then we will embark again to sail very close to the south wall of the glacier. From this privileged perspective, you will be able to observe every crevasse, every block of suspended ice and the majesty of this millennial formation.
Upon returning to the port, the tour continues with the visit to the famous glacier walkways, where we will have 2 hours to explore them at our own pace and have lunch on the walkway we take from El Calafate, with unforgettable panoramic views. We end the day with the return to the city, taking in our souls the excitement of having been face to face with one of the most amazing glaciers in the world.

We loved this whole day- the guide Max and driver were so good, we so enjoyed their company. Thank you Max for helping me with my Spanish too! The glacier is just mind blowing and our guide on the glacier walk, Diego, was so good too. We were lucky enough to witness a large ‘calving’ of ice - pretty spectacular. I feel like I’ve learned so much about glaciers and their formation that I never knew. The bus from El Calafate was comfortable and Max made it entertaining. She spoke in both Spanish and English as did the guides on the glacier walk. A fantastic day and I would thoroughly recommend.
Of the most amazing things I've ever done. To be so close to the glacier and hear it crunch is awesome. Do not underestimate the level of demand of the walk. It is done but it is tiresome and some stretches a little complicated. Wear a coat and trekking shoes if or if.
Hola July! ¡Muchísimas gracias por tu comentario! Nos encanta saber que cumplimos con tus expectativas y que te llevas un hermoso recuerdo de esta aventura. Saludos
Communication with the company went well and was quick. They were punctual when passing through our hotel. The tour was wonderful, well worth it, because Perito Moreno is beautiful and amazing! Guides were very helpful and attentive. We did the stroll, navigation and walking to get close to the Perito Moreno and touch it. It is a different and wonderful experience!
Oi Viviane! Obrigado por seu comentário! Adoramos compartilhar a magia da Patagônia com todos os viajantes, até a próxima! 🧊🩵
Average is the word I would use to describe the blue Safari. The scenery was beautiful and we did get close to the glacier. However, our guy did not know how to speak English properly and we could barely understand her. Again, it was just OK. What is beautiful Is the Perito Moreno glacier.
Hello how are you? We are very sorry for what happened, we will take your comment into consideration. Greetings!
We went with our 6 and 9-year-old daughters. A wonderful experience!!! Today we could not touch the glacier so much because there was a lot of mud but we played with the ice on the beach and it was spectacular!
Hola! Muchas gracias por tu comentario
Agency with very good excursion proposals. They are complimentary on schedule and have very prepared and friendly guides that make the experiences very good. I recommend them.
Muchas gracias por tu comentario!!
My problem is with the tour company and not the experience itself. I had initially booked the ice trekking tour back in September for our tour in January. I had pretty much booked my flights, itinerary, stays ALL around the ice trekking; however, within 2 weeks of the experience, they canceled the ice trekking on us saying there was no more room on the tour despite us having booked MONTHS earlier. I was beyond frustrated with the company as I would have changed plans had they let me know earlier but with 2 weeks notice, there were no more options left. This left me gutted as I reached out to so many other companies to see what options I had. Ultimately, I accepted that there were no other options and chose this Blue Safari tour which was alright with the same company. I would say, don't bother booking with this tour company since they are completely unreliable and book directly with Hielo & Aventura. Hielo & Aventura is the company that can 100% confirm whether your booking is confirmed or not so don't bother with any of these 3rd-party vendors that are completely unprofessional and unempathetic when they cancel on you last minute because of their own shortcomings and lack of follow-through
To begin with, we spent 2 hours picking people up from the hotels, the guide was terrible, very unprofessional or knew nothing about the place. We arrived at Perito Moreno which is wonderful and they gave us only 1 hour to explore the Catwalks!!!! A shame we couldn't see almost anything.
Hola! Gracias por tu comentario, lo tendremos en cuenta
An alternative and more affordable experience to mini trekking for those who want to get up close to the Perito Moreno Glacier. Punctual agency, I didn't have any problems. I recommend!
Muito obrigada pela mensagem
Great company and guides. The tour was excellent, allowing you to see the expert from different angles: from the water, land and from the walkways. I was unsure about which tour to take and I think it was the best choice.
Buenas tardes! Te agradecemos que te hayas tomado el tiempo de compartirnos tu experiencia. Nos alegra que hayas quedado conforme con la actividad seleccionada. te esperamos de vuelta! Saludos cordiales.
