Continue through Comino’s north channel, passing the Elephant’s Head rock formation, Santa Maria Cave, Santa Maria Bay, and St. Nicholas Bay. After about one hour, arrive at the famous Blue Lagoon, where the boat moors for 1 hour 30 minutes. Swim in crystal-clear waters, relax on deck, or explore the island. Onboard facilities include sun decks with complimentary deck chairs (first come, first served), shaded seating, an air-conditioned lower deck, toilets, and a cafeteria serving hot and cold beverages.

Pass by

Upon departure we cruise by our first site that of St. Paul's island. Here, as stated by the bible, is where he was shipwrecked in 60A.D we now find an 8.3 meter high statue.

Pass by

Continuing along Malta’s northern coastline, we pass Mellieħa Bay (Għadira Bay), the islands’ largest sandy beach. Shortly after, the captain carefully approaches the impressive Ahrax Cave, steering close to its entrance for fantastic photo opportunities and a closer look at its natural rock formations.

Pass by

We stop at the world-famous Blue Lagoon for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Here, you can swim and snorkel in crystal-clear turquoise waters, relax on deck, or soak up the sun beside one of Malta’s most iconic swimming spots. For those feeling adventurous, make a splash using the 10-metre waterslide directly into the lagoon’s clear waters.

90 min

After approximately one hour of cruising, we arrive at the stunning Blue Lagoon. We aim to arrive early to maximise your time in its crystal-clear turquoise waters. Thanks to our excellent mooring position, you can enjoy swimming, jumping, and sliding directly into the lagoon away from the busiest shoreline areas. Relax on the upper sun deck, unwind in shaded seating, or use the boat as your comfortable base while exploring Comino Island. Onboard facilities, including washrooms and a cafeteria serving food and drinks, remain available throughout the stop. We stay here for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Please remember to download your free landing pass from www.blcomino.com before arrival.

Pass by

After your stop at the Blue Lagoon, we continue to Gozo’s main port, Mġarr Harbour. Here, you’ll enjoy approximately 3 hours to explore the island at your own pace. You may choose to discover Gozo independently using local transport or spend time relaxing around the harbour area. For those who prefer a structured visit, an optional shuttle transfer (€5 per person) is available. This includes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in Victoria, Gozo’s capital city — ideal for exploring the Citadel, browsing local shops, or enjoying a meal — followed by a short scenic stop at a panoramic viewpoint for memorable photos of the island. Please note that travel time between stops is included within the 3-hour visit.

90 min

Located within Victoria, the historic Citadel is one of Gozo’s most iconic landmarks. This fortified hilltop offers breathtaking panoramic views across the island and surrounding sea. Wander through its ancient stone walls, small museums, and quiet alleyways for a glimpse into Gozo’s rich history.

90 min

Guests choosing the optional shuttle transfer (€5 per person) will enjoy approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in Victoria, Gozo’s lively capital. Here, you can explore charming streets, browse local shops, visit cafés, or simply soak up the island’s relaxed atmosphere.

Pass by

As we cruise through Comino’s south channel toward the Blue Lagoon, we pass the striking Crystal Lagoon, known for its dramatic cliffs and deep, clear waters that attract divers and snorkelers. From the boat, you’ll enjoy close-up views of its beautiful sea caves and rock formations — perfect for photos — before continuing toward our main swim stop at the Blue Lagoon. Crystal Lagoon is also accessible on foot from the Blue Lagoon, just a short walk across the island for those who wish to explore further.

Disgraceful - Refund Due for their mistake - Left High & dry and €240 out of pocket

I'm trying to get a refund of €240, after being left high and dry by Hornblower Cruise Malta. I bought 6 tickets weeks in advance of our trip via "Headout Tours online" to do a full day Gozo & Comino Cruise with Blue Lagoon on Hornblower, departing Tuesday 9th June at 1000hrs, at a total cost of €240. We arrived at Bugibba Pier in plenty of time to collect our pre-registered blcomino.com wristbands, and then we proceeded to queue with others at 0920hrs (as per voucher instructions) to board the Hornblower ship. At our turn to board, the person who was scanning tickets at the boarding ramp for the Hornblower, he looked at my phone/tickets and pointed out at the "tour name title" and he said "this ship wasn't going to Gozo, that it was the next ship coming at 1030hrs from Silema to Bugibba". I queried that because the ticket says 1000hrs, and he called over to another crew member at the pier, who also verified that another boat comes in at 1030". So I had two crew members advise me the same thing !! Who was I to question this, I mean I'm at their ship and this is their crew? So, we waited for this 1030 ship, which never came. I tried to contact the emergency number for Headout, but i couldn't get through. I contacted chat lines, but you only get a chatbot these days, so useless. We ended up booking new tickets at the pier to go with "Sea Trips Catamaran" on a 5pm sunset cruise later that day, which cost us an additional €180. I followed up with an email to Headout Customer service that afternoon, and they emailed back with Hornblowers response, which is that "I must have gone to the wrong pier (which I didn't), because I was at their ship and I have video evidence to support this. Also, Hornblower say that "only one ships departs at 1000hrs from Bugibba ", which is funny, because that is the ship that I was trying to board, but I couldn't get access to board it !!!! The customer care team from Headout have tried to deal with Hornblower, but they just receive a standard response that " I must have made a mistake, there is only one 1000hrs departure, the ship departed without me and therefore I'm not entitled to a refund". So here's some evidence. Hornblower said in their reply that "only one ship leaves at 1000hrs from Bugibba Pier", and yet they had an advertising board at Bugibba pier on the 9th June'26, which says they have 2 tours !!! They advertised a " Tour A, Comino, Blue Lagoon and Caves" and also a "Tour B", which is what I booked for "Comino, Blue Lagoon, Gozo and Caves", and get this, it says the ships leave at 1030hrs (I'm glad I took a photo of this, which is attached). Incredibly, after my written complaint that day, a couple of days later, somebody in Hornblower then covered up that very same advertising board with a new board using some cable ties (and you can see it was covering up the two tours and 1030hrs) ... sneaky eh !!!! So the bottom line is, some crew members made a mistake with my tickets, perhaps they read it wrong but they are the ones that made the mistake and all Hornblower can do to save face is to call me liar, or suggest that I made a mistake and all the while they'll just keep €240. Headout offered me an option to rebook the same tour for another date, which in a sense is admitting liability for an error, but I wasn't able to go another date, as I was travelling elsewhere, i'd also booked a separate tour a few hours later at additional expense. So willing to rebook me, but not willing to refund me! I work in the Travel Industry for a large Tour Operator, and I've never come across such disregard towards a customer issue. At no point have they engaged meaningfully via Headout customer care, even though I've provided supporting evidence to the contrary. Ironically, on their own poster at the pier their company slogan is "Because you deserve the best", when really all I deserve is a refund which would be the best, and what I deserve. I'll be sure to call them out to other agents and customers for their behaviour.

Operator response

Dear Mr. Barry Hammond, Please note that you never spoke with us directly but to your agent through Headout. Secondly you did not receive a refund because you never made it to the boat. On the morning of the tour instead of following the clear instructions on your ticket you spoke to a NON-HORNBLOWER official (scanning tickets - we don't have a scanner those are the government officials) who gave you another company's boat departure time. For the past 8 years we have always left at 10am The two tours you mention are listed on our website and advertised on all our marketing material. In previous years they were advertised as tour A and B but since 4 years have been advertised as: 'Comino, Blue Lagoon & Caves' - Tour A and 'Gozo, Comino, Blue Lagoon and Caves' - Tour B They both depart at 10am The board was coincidentally changed as it was old and the pictures were fading - nothing to do with you 🤦‍♀️ If only you took the time to go through the instructions on your ticket where it clearly states directions, what boat to look for and what time to get there it would have saved you quite a lot of hassle.. Kind regards, Hornblower Cruises Malta

Great day out

This is the tour you need to be going on if you want to go to the blue lagoon. Our boat definitely had one of the best spaces to dock and plenty of space on board. The pineapple drinks were also a highlight!

When is the third stop?!?

The itinerary states 3 times a 90 minute stay (blue lagoon, Victoria and Citadelle). Actually we stopped for 80 minutes at the blue lagoon and another time for 90 minutes at Victoria where the Citadelle is located. But we didn't make a third stop. So instead of 4,5hrs we got a little under 3 hrs and the rest of the time on the boat.... there was enough space in the boat, drinks and food wasn't too expensive, made different Foto stops, provided life vests for insecure swimmers so they could also swim in the blue lagoon, possibility to rent googles and snorkle for 5€

Operator response

Thank you for your review and for sharing your feedback. 😊 We're pleased to hear that you appreciated the spacious boat, reasonable food and drink prices, photo stops, and the safety equipment provided for guests wishing to swim. We would like to clarify that the tour includes a stop at the Blue Lagoon (on Comino island) and a stop in Gozo, where guests can choose the shuttle to visit Victoria the capital city where (at the same stop) you can visit the Citadel UNESCO site independently. These are not separate stops but part of the same Gozo visit. We're very sorry if this was not communicated clearly and led to different expectations. Thank you for joining us, and we appreciate your comments as they help us continue improving our guest experience. 🚤🌊 Best Wishes, Captain Kevin and the Crew⚓️

The shuttle you can pay...

The shuttle you can pay for in Gozo just takes you to Victoria at 5 euros is not too bad but they do drop you quite away from the citadelle it’s quite a climb up Overall a nice trip

Operator response

Thank you for your review! 😊 We're glad you enjoyed the trip overall. The Gozo shuttle offers a convenient way to visit Victoria and the Citadel, and while there is a short walk uphill, many guests find the views and historic surroundings well worth it. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back on board again soon! 🚤🌊☀️ Best Wishes, Captain Kevin and the Crew⚓️

Breathtaking views Blue Lagoon is amazing!

Comino was breathtaking and the speed boat tour to the caves was worth the $15 per person. The visit to Gozo was also great with wonderful food and some shopping. Pay the additional $5 per person for the bus in order to go into Victoria, the capital.

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review! 😊 We're delighted you enjoyed the breathtaking Blue Lagoon and found the speedboat cave tour worthwhile. 🚤🌊 It's also great to hear you enjoyed your visit to Gozo, including Victoria's beautiful streets, shops, and restaurants. Thank you for sharing your tips with future guests, and we hope to welcome you back on board again soon! ☀️🏝️ Best Wishes, Captain Kevin and the Crew ⚓️

Good itinerary but very busy

The places visited were lovely. However the boat was very busy. The blue lagoon was packed, the crew allowed people to jump off the top deck as soon as we arrived, then everyone who wanted to get off the boat by ladders were stuck as the crew did not not police the ladders and the said top deck jumpers all got back on the boat to do it again, thus blocking the ladders for everyone else. Food and drinks were available at reasonable prices.Enjoyed the day but wouldn’t go back again

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We're pleased to hear you enjoyed the beautiful locations visited and found our food and drinks reasonably priced. 😊 During the summer months, the Blue Lagoon can become very busy, which is unfortunately beyond our control. We appreciate your comments regarding access to the ladders and will review this with our crew. Thank you for joining us, and we're glad you were still able to enjoy your day overall. 🚤🌊 Best Wishes, Captain Kevin and the Crew ⚓️
