Itinerary
A scenic drive along the north coast with an extraordinary view of the crisp coastline and turquoise water takes you to the Blue Hole and Secret Falls. In the hills of Ocho Rios, away from the hustle and bustle of the busy towns is where you find this unspoiled, untouched rare gem. The Cool Blue Hole oasis offers an array of natural beauty and electrifying fun. Take in the gorgeous, bright blue water in the natural mineral pool surrounded by lush, tropical rain-forest. Have a blast jumping off the edge into the deep pool, swinging on Tarzan ropes or swimming up under the caves. Then, a 5-minute hike through the woods to the amazing Secret Falls. You are in “awe” as you make your way through the magnificent, lush green vegetation up to the Secret Falls. There you allow the cascading waters to hug you while you take amazing photo shots. There are resident photographers however, feel free to take your own waterproof camera. Your Blue Hole guide will assist taking photos of you.
A rare experience awaits you at the world famous Dunns River Falls where you climb the falls in a human chain led by experienced Falls Guides. Dunn's River Falls Park is the perfect environment for fun and relaxation for the entire family. There is a delightful new discovery around every corner. Your friendly resident guide will walk you do to the beach where the tour starts. The total climb from the beach to the top is approximately 600ft (183 meters). There are pools along the way where you will stop for photo shoots and frolicking. Allow the cascades to hug you while you make your way up. Pause at the 'massage parlour' and experience the soothing effects of the water as it cascades to the sea. There are exit points along the way if you want to quit – If you do, meet up with the rest of your group at the finish. For the less brave - live vicariously. View the activities of the more intrepid from the "safe" vantage point of the terrace or deck. Total time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes.
This Rose Hall Great House is an early 18th century plantation home that sits on a high elevation on thousands of acres in Rose Hall, Montego Bay. The Rose Hall Great House was once owned by the famous and certainly one of the wickedest plantation owners to walk the land of Jamaica, Annie Palmer. She owned hundreds of slaves. This house became haunted after her gruesome death in 1831. The house is scary to look at even in the daytime. There is no stop at the Rose all Great House on your way to Negril however, your tour guide will tell you the history and slow down so that you can take photos.
The Greenwood Great House (Plantation home) was constructed in the early 18th Century. Like most, if not all the other Great Houses in Jamaica, the Greenwood Great House was built at high elevation. One could say that this was a strategy used back in the plantation era as a means of overlooking the plantation and also for security purposes. This house, unlike the Rose Hall Great House, is not haunted but of a more peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The history and the architecture of the house is what will blow you away. As you pass by, feel free to take photos when your tour guide slows down.
The town of Discovery Bay is where you will find Columbus Park. It was originally named Puerto Seco “Dry Harbour” by Christopher Columbus in 1494 when he and his men landed on the Island. It is said that could not find fresh water to drink. They later found fresh water in another area about 5 miles west of the town. The water was so good that they named the location where it was found Rio Bueno “Good River”. However, the town of Puerto Seco was later renamed in 1947 to Discovery Bay because Discovery Bay is where the Spanish, lead by Christopher Columbus landed when they invaded the Island on May 4, 1494. There is a park with several old relics and artifacts on display (Park temporarily close for renovations). There will be a brief stop to take photos and capture the rich history of this historic town.
The heartbeat of the garden parish of St. Ann, the resort area of Ocho Rios is the nature lover’s paradise. As previously thought to be watered by eight rivers (as its name suggests) Ocho Rios provides a lush landscape of caves, gardens, rivers and white sand beaches. The name Ocho Rios actually derives from “Las Choreras” meaning “waterfalls” and may be a reflection of the many waterfalls in the area. From the Fern Gully located in the remains of an old river bed to the tiered waterfalls of Dunn’s River, Blue Hole and the Secret Falls, arguably, Jamaica’s most popular attractions, Ocho Rios draws thousands of visitors back to arguably the island’s most romantic, picturesque resort area.
This tour takes you through one of the most popular towns on the Island. Runaway Bay is naturally beautiful and is certainly one of the most scenic areas in Jamaica. It sits between the beautiful, crisp coastline to one side and the lush green mountains to the other. There is much debate as to how the town of Runaway Bay got its name. some people believe it got the name because that is where the last batch of Spanish soldiers ran away from when they were retreating from the attacking British Troops lead by Governor Ysassi right after the 1655 British invasion of Jamaica, while other argue that it was the point from which the Slaves from inland plantations used as an escape route to runaway to Cuba. Get your cameras ready to go as you make your way through this area.

The tours in Jamaica in general are a rip off! You pay so much money and barley spend actual time enjoying the excursion. The only good part was the driver Copley Johnson. We went on a prior tour with a different driver who didn’t give us any history of the area we were in whatsoever, Copely on the other hand kept us informed the whole ride through and shared a lot of interesting facts and made it fun without leaving anyone out. As for the tour itself, the secret falls and the blue hole were nice, but the whole experience was rushed by the other tour guide at the park. They rushed everyone to jump off the cliffs and only let us stay in the water about 10 minutes while other people jumped, then rushed us out to go to the next location. While we were there the guide took take pictures of us, which was nice but again just rushed us through the whole process and asked for us to tip him for taking the pictures. We were in the water, probably for a total of 15 minutes. We were then taken to a lunch which was way too expensive $30 for barely any meat if you order the oxtail and a bowl of rice, the fruit punch which was given in a small plastic cup cost $3 if you want an extra cup otherwise it’s included in the meal. We were also taken to a souvenir shop which we were told we would get a 30% discount and we were told we can mix and match items to save money and somehow still spent $100 on about 5 items. Make sure you bring water shoes because if you have to buy them at the souvenir store, they cost $10 which you would think is fine but they will only last you for that day. Be careful jumping off the falls because if you get hurt, you will have to pay $20 for ice at the park. Once you walk by each little shop at the park, they will shout and yell at you and ask if you would like to buy any drinks. Now, as for the waterfall, we were not prepared for what was about to happen. First they let you play in a little area of water while you wait for other people to join the tour then they walk you down the stairs to see a beautiful beach of which you will not be allowed to get into. After that, you will climb the 600 foot waterfall with barely any instructions. They did not prepare us and tell us we were climbing up all of these rocks gushing out water and pushing you around, whatsoever. They only gave us a short speech telling us they wiped algae off some rocks, and if the rocks are dark, they’re more than likely slippery. If you are elderly, have any type of health issues, back issues, knee issues do not go on this trip!!!! You will leave banged up. The guide was yelling at me because the water was in my face and I couldn’t see to push myself up. He barely helped any of us, but made sure to ask for us to take care of him after the tour aka leave him a tip. They even follow you back to your bus so that you can tip them. After the huge climb of which they let you stop in the smaller pools for about two minutes the photographer will ask if you want to pay $40 for the pictures he took and a video of the whole trip which includes a documentary that tries to convince you to go back to Jamaica. The video of the trip is about 15 minutes and will include the whole group whether you know them or not. Please note that the photographer goes along on this climb and will tell you if you fall he will capture it and he’s sure captured me busting myself, if my husband wasn’t with me, no one would have helped. They all just stood and watched, and that part was left in the video. The climb will take about 45 minutes. After they put you to follow the signs back to the bus, which will take you through a market where every single person will try to get you to stop and buy something and they do warn you that if they give you something not to take it unless you wanna pay for it. It feels like the Macy’s perfume section. If this sounds good to you, go for it my recommendation would be to hire a private driver who will let you enjoy the day as you please and then pick you up afterwards. That way you can actually enjoy the beach, which did look very beautiful and the different water holes, which were very nice. If only they would let us enjoy them.
This was a really fun excursion! Copely was a driver and he was awesome! Very knowledgeable and kind. He picked us up from our resort, we had a quick stop at a local gift shop and then off to Blue Hole. The guides we had for both Blue Hole and Dunns River were both amazing. We had lunch at a local place called Linda’s which was delicious, definitely the best jerk chicken we had on the trip. Copely placed our order ahead of time so we didn’t have to wait long which was nice. If you are looking for a great excursion in Jamaica, this is the one to do! You do need water shoes with good tread because the rocks are slippery. If you forgot to bring some, they sell them and waterproof phone cases at the gift shop you stop at before the tour starts. If you wear glasses, be sure to get a strap so you don’t lose them. Both Blue Hole and Dunns River have photographer’s that take pictures during the excursion which you can buy if you choose. Don’t forget to bring money for lunch and to tip the guides. This was a 10/10 experience!
Had an absolute blast for my birthday! Great guides, ask for Ryan (blue hole) /secret falls) you wont be disappointed, tell him you heard he can lift 😂😂 thanks for creating such a great birthday memory ❤️
My boyfriend and I loved Blue Hole; it was our favorite excursion from our trip. The water was beautiful and we were able to cliff jump. At Dunn’s river, we hiked/climbed the river with a group and a guide which was exciting. The admission fee was very reasonable since the entry admission fee for both Blue Hole & Dunn’s River Fall are included in the overall total. We had lunch at Linda’s; this is not included in the fee, so you do have to pay out of pocket but the food was yummy! The drive, activities and lunch was about 10 hours since we were staying in Montego Bay and the activities are in Ocho Rio.
Beautiful!!!!! We had a blast! A must see
I had a fun experience as a solo traveler. We wound up being a group of 19 with multiple hotel pickups. You will get a pickup time based on your location. They communicate well via the Viator app and WhatsApp. Marlon was a fun and interactive driver! Get ready for trivia 😀 D was organized and efficient with check ins and tickets which made our day smooth. Ryan and his crew made the rainy day better with his positive vibes at the Secret Falls and Floyd and Roy made sure we didn't slide down Dunn's River Falls! There was a stop right before heading to the Blue Hole to use the bathroom, grab a snack, and/or get some souvenirs. Lunch was very good. Prices ranged from $15-30 USD for a local meal and a drink. Don't forget your water shoes. You absolutely need them. Enjoy your trip to Jamaica. ONE LOVE.
I received emails for the excursion almost everyday keeping me informed. The day before I was sent a canceled notice which went to junk mail. Which I didn’t realize until it was too late after sitting for an hour in front of the hotel, waiting for the bus to pick me up..
Great trip, plenty of time to see each sight and the guides were great, very friendly and told us a lot about the places!
This was the cherry on our trip! Copely is not only super professional and experienced but also incredibly human and considerate. Our tour was unforgettable and extremely organized. It certainly surpassed our expectations! 💛💚🖤
It was a fun day, but it is a lot of walking
