Itinerary
Bled castle is the oldest Slovenian castle and currently one of the most visited tourist attractions in Slovenia. The castle houses a museum collection that traces the lake’s history from earliest times to the development of Bled as a resort in the 19th century. Castle restaurant offers taking coffee or famous Bled cake while enjoying an exceptional breath-taking view.
Lake Bled is one of the most beautiful spots in Slovenia and is often the literal poster child for Slovenia tourism. In fact, it must also be a contender to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole of Europe! Not only is the lake itself serene and peaceful, but it features not one but two iconic landmarks: a island topped with in the middle of the lake and a fairytale castle on a hill.
Slovenia's capital and largest city is one of Europe's greenest and most livable capitals; it was the European Commission's Green Capital of Europe in 2016. Car traffic is restricted in the center, leaving the leafy banks of the emerald-green Ljubljanica River, which flows through the city's heart, free for pedestrians and cyclists. In summer, cafes set up terrace seating along the river; it almost feels like a nightly street party.
Ljubljana Castle, standing on a hill above the city for about 900 years, is Ljubljana's main attraction. The castle offers some of the most beautiful views of the city and houses a museum exhibition on Slovenian history, a puppet museum, and a number of historical rooms such as the Chapel of St George, the Prison, and a video presentation room called Virtual Castle.

It was a great day trip. Luckily we were the only one on the trip and so we couod make it flexible as per our preference. Our tour guide Josip was too good and very friendly and coopertive.
Josip was an awesome driver & guide. Communication for pick up was done well. What’s app really help when abroad. He drove us to Bled Lake first and that place was postcard perfect. Then we went to Ljubljana and he showed us where to get lunch which is awesome & food was delicious. He has a lot of stories & experiences shared with us which made us comfortable with him. His clients that day was only me & my hubby. The two places we went we’re never crowded which is a good thing coz i hate crowds. Tho, a lot of the shops are closed for the season, the ones that are opened are good enough to ahop for souvenirs.
Spectacular tour with beautiful stops at Lake Bled and Ljubljana. The scenery was amazing and Ljubljana looks like a city created by Disney. It was a fairy tale town. My driver, Josep was very professional, welcoming and kind. The vehicle was very comfortable and clean. I truly enjoyed this experience and consider it a MUST DO if you are in Zagreb.
Josip was an outstanding guide. He went out of his way to make sure all our needs were met. We really enjoyed the tour and never felt rushed.
We had the perfect trip to Lake Bled and Ljubljana with Josip. He picked us up at our apartment in Zagreb and was a wonderful guide and driver. Very knowledgeable and really made the trip interesting and enjoyable. Definitely recommend booking with him for this tour!
We travelled from Zagreb to Bled Lake and Ljubljana Travel time to the lake was about 2 hrs but the beautiful scenery and the BEST tour guide Josip made it quite enjoyable Highly recommend this tour
The tour was fantastic. Our guide Josip was awesome & extremly helpful. The lake was just absolutely breathtaking beautiful….Views from castle amazing. Ljubljana is a lovely place to visit, great vibe around the city. Had a great day, thank you 🙏
After loads of research I decided to chose this day tour to Lake Bled and Ljubljana. Josip picked me up on time and made the journey very pleasant. The trip starts from the castle at the Lake and then you go down to Lake Bled. This is the best way as you arrive when it is less busy and you avoid all the traffic. Josip is very flexible and if you want to spend more ir less time somewhere he will adjust the tour to your requirements. If you visit Zagreb its the best tour to chose and visit also Slovenia which is couple of hours away.
We went to all the spots in the tour description but received very limited insights into what we were seeing. Our tour guide and driver (Josip) was a nice person with clear communication in English. We were particular impressed by his puntuality ... always on time and responsive via whatsapp. He was also a very good and safe driver. As a result, we would rank him 5/5 as a "driver". But as a tour guide, Josip appeared to have very limited knowledge or simply was not interested to share much insights into what we actually saw. At Bled, he simply sent us off to the castle and the boat tour by ourselves. There was absolutely no "tour guiding" at all. While we thought that it was very strange, we excused him in our mind (thinking that he was not supposed to accompany us on these activities). But then we saw other tour guides providing local narratives to their tourists at these places. At Ljubljana, there was no "entry fees". He again just left us to walk around the town after a few short commentaries. As a "tour guide", Josip would rank 1/5. We try to be reasonable so would give a 3/5. Frankly, if you need a ride to these places, then by all means join this tour. If you expect to learn about these places, good luck.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not fully meet your expectations. This was a private tour booked through your organizer and not a standard group bus tour, and already at the meeting point it was clear that this came as a surprise and caused some disappointment to you. We always try to adapt to our guests, and we regret if this was not clearly aligned in your case. We respect your opinion, although many of our other reviews reflect very positive experiences. We are also sorry that, despite accommodating additional requests like visiting two more locations outside the tour itinerary at no extra charge, the overall experience was still not satisfactory for you. Thank you again for your comments, as they help us continue to improve.
Slovenia is beautiful and Josip was an excellent guide and driver. He worked very hard to make this and enjoyable experience for us.
