Horton Plains is one of the best places to visit if you truly love unpolluted nature. The cool climate, misty weather, lush greenery, and fresh water make the experience absolutely amazing. The walk is nearly 10 km, so comfortable clothes and good walking shoes are a must. Wearing a jersey and bringing a warm cap is also recommended due to the cold weather. Polythene is not allowed inside the park, so if you bring food, use paper bags and take all your waste back with you. It’s a beautiful place that reminds us to respect and protect nature. Please keep only your footsteps
The tour started on time, started looking for birds from sunrise & got most of my target species in the morning, including male & female whistling thrushes and bush warblers. The driver Tharuka and the guide Dammi were really kind, helpful and skilled. Will recommend to any birders with specific needs.
