I asked ChatGPT what to do with a 13 and 15 year old in Cocoa Beach at night and this was one of the top suggestions. I had no idea that this was a thing. I’m so glad I decided to go for it as it was something we could never do back home in California! Kaylee was our guide and she made all of us feel at ease as we had never been kayaking before. The price you pay is reasonable considering the equipment, time, etc. I loved getting my teenagers off their screens and into nature to experience something truly beautiful. I would 100% recommend!
Knowing what I know now, I would not choose this company again, and I probably wouldn't book a bioluminescence tour in the Cocoa Beach area at all. I later learned that there are better locations nearby for seeing the bioluminescence. One of the reasons I chose this company was because their website advertised that they were the only bioluminescence tour in Cocoa Beach offering clear kayaks. Research after the tour shows several companies in Cocoa Beach that offer clear kayak bioluminescence tours. When I tried to book the clear kayak tour online, the website wasn't working properly, so I had to call to make my reservation. During that call, I specifically requested the clear kayak tour. The representative confirmed that the launch location closest to me offered clear kayaks and booked the reservation. When we arrived for the tour at the scheduled time, there were no clear kayaks. The tour guide immediately told us they don't use clear kayaks at that location. After the tour, I contacted the company to explain what had happened. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, the owner told me I had never requested a clear kayak tour and claimed it was my fault for booking the wrong tour. That directly contradicts the conversation I had with their representative when making the reservation. Mistakes happen, and I would have been much more understanding if the company had simply acknowledged the booking error. Instead, I was given incorrect information when booking and then blamed for their mistake afterward. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
Mr. P., as we have communicated to you directly and through the other sites where you are leaving this SAME review, no mistakes were made and all communication with you was forthright and truthful. You booked and received our 5 star bioluminescence tour. Further, guide feedback was that you enjoyed the tour. No surprise - we give the best tours in Cocoa Beach. And yet 8 days later you decided that you were deceived or mistakes were made by Fin Expeditions. Mr. P if that were truly the case, we would be the first to acknowledge it. But it is simply not how things occurred. We have multiple different tours and describe each precisely whether through our website, email, phone, text etc. You asked about one tour and were told it was not available. The tour that was available was described and you chose to book. You were sent confirmations, reminders etc.. You arrived for your tour, went on the tour and, apparently, enjoyed the tour. That is it. Fin Expeditions was happy to have you as our guest and to give you a five star tour of the spectacular bioluminescence in Cocoa Beach. We’re sorry that more than a week later you have concluded that you were somehow wronged and are now copying and pasting your same negative review on multiple sites.
I recently went on the Fin Expedition Bioluminescent Kayak Tour, and it was an amazing experience! The bioluminescence was incredible to see in person, and the entire tour was well organized and enjoyable from start to finish. Our tour guide, Kaylee, was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience even more memorable. She provided great information about the bioluminescence and the surrounding environment, answering questions along the way and keeping the tour engaging and fun. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique outdoor adventure. If you're lucky enough to have Kaylee as your guide, you're in for a great experience!
Very cool experience. I wasn’t sure how much I would see but there was quite a bit of activity from fish so you could really see the bioluminescence. Very hard to take good videos so I just enjoyed the experience. I would totally recommend. I put on bug spray and wore long sleeves and pants bc of other reviews I saw, but I didn’t think the bugs were really out.
We saw lots of the plankton, caught lots of it in our net and even held some in our hand. The lights were just beautiful. Very peacful kayaking at night.
The experience was fantastic, our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful we did the 930pm trip, the only concern and it was just nature and nothing we can do about that.. is the mosquitos!!! Wear long sleeve shirts and pants because bug spray doesn't work, we used a hole can. It was hard to take videos or pictures to share however its the lasting memories we captured. We would definitely do it again next time in the clear kayaks.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Incredible Bioluminescent Tour with Fin Expeditions & Ian! This was truly one of the most magical experiences I’ve ever had! We started the evening by spotting dolphins and even a couple of manatees right near our kayaks—an amazing and unexpected bonus. From there, we paddled peacefully through the mangroves as the sun set, guided by Ian, who was knowledgeable, patient, and clearly passionate about both the wildlife and the experience. Once darkness set in, the water began to glow with bioluminescence. Every paddle stroke lit up with sparkling blue light, and fish darting around us looked like underwater shooting stars. It was absolutely surreal. Ian made the entire tour smooth, safe, and so memorable. His love for the environment and the local ecosystem really shines through in the way he leads the group and shares insights. I can't recommend Fin Expeditions and Ian enough. If you’re anywhere near the area, this tour is a must-do!
We thoroughly enjoyed our kayaking night. To be inserted into nature, quiet, glowing, constellations aplenty due to low light, & of course, animal life. Jordan- Big High Five, Thank you.
DJ the guide was amazing! Highly recommend this expedition. We had an absolute amazing time. We got to see manatees and stingrays. The bioluminescence in the water was breathtaking. We would definitely try this again.
Jordyn was great with us for most of our first time in a kayak. We had the best time as a family and we saw manatees and dolphins during the sunset portion. The bioluminescence was just an epic as Jordyn described! It was the coolest experience.
