Truly was an excellent guide. We would highly recommend this tour. Excellent communication and flexibility with types of food we wanted to try and we got to see many highlights of the city. It was a very enjoyable evening.
Rayy was a great guide - he tailored our tour to suit our location and preferences and gave us a great insight to start our few days in Hong Kong. We learnt about some of the history and traditions, used the tram and ferry and ate a range of food - roasted goose, shrimp noodles, fish balls, dim sims, spring rolls, egg waffles, egg tart, French toast milk tea and lemon tea. Rayy was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure we ate at quality venues so we could enjoy the best in offer, while learning what to order ourselves later. Make sure you start this tour on an empty stomach!
We had a Truly great experience on our food tour with Truly. She is very personable and easy going, very knowledgeable about the history of the place, not just food and markets. Truly navigated a rainshower that could have ruined our tour beautifully by stopping at really serious tea shop where we had a chance to sample and buy some amazing tea.
Truly provided great tour of food scene in Hong Kong. She was very resourceful and knowledgeable.
We had an amazing time on the tour. Truly was fantastic and so knowledgeable of the foods and of Hong Kong, showing us all around and providing us with different types of food. Truly was kind and friendly and I would recommend this tour with her as host again.
Truly was a great tour guide! It was our first day exploring Hong Kong and her tour gave great insights into the food, the history, and the culture of the city. We discovered much more than we ever could have wandering around the city on our own.
The food tour was great, particularly our guide, Truly. She did an excellent job of planning the tour and highlighting the key parts of the city and cultural significance. This wasn’t just a “let’s go to 4 or 5 restaurants” tour, but a real tour, going to places unique to the city. Well planned and well executed.
We really liked the tour. You got a good overview of the food in Hong Kong. It was very delicious. Thanks again to our guide!
Absolutely the worst food tour we’ve ever taken (we have taken food tours in many international cities). The tour we wanted (Michelin star street food of Kowloon) was canceled. First of all the tour is advertised for 4 hours. We were lucky to get a 2 hour tour. The tour included walking around Kowloon Park, which had absolutely nothing to do with food. We know “local” food can be excellent but not in this case. It was cheap and nothing special. The tour also said 7-8 tasting. We had 4 tastings (including milk tea) at the first stop which was literally right next to our hotel. This meant half the food tasing was done in 30 minutes. My husband said it was like a fast food “Denny’s” in the US. On the way to the final food stop we had fish balls on skewers. The final stop we had 3 dishes that were just ok, nothing special in the back of a local food market. Our guide Cosmo was nice, on time, admittedly tired and seemed glad to end the tour when we did. I actually wasn’t sure he knew we signed up for a 4 hour tour. 2 days prior we had an excellent 4+ hour food tour on Hong Kong Island with Alex.
Hi Lori, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re sorry the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand how important it is for a food tour to deliver variety and memorable tastings. We’re glad to hear that the guide was punctual and friendly, but we regret that the overall experience did not reflect the quality you were hoping for. We’ve already contacted you via email to follow up directly and appreciate your comments as we work to improve our tours. Warm wishes, Guydeez Team
Claudia was marvelous. We tasted so many great foods. She made accommodations for our tastes and took time to explain all foods. She additionally was gracious to show us many sights and how to use the ferry. She speaks excellent English. Has a deep understanding of Hong Kong history. Thank you Claudia!!!
