We had the best day with our guide Matthew Mullholland. He took us around to amazing sights, was very knowledgeable about the sights and all the wildlife we saw. He worked so hard to find us amazing wildlife which is very hit or miss and he hit big for us! We loved the tour and will definitely recommend this company to anybody going to Jackson hole
Our Best of Yellowstone Tour with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris was an absolutely amazing experience! Our 10+ hour adventure was filled with unforgettable wildlife encounters, including herds of bison, elk, and so much more. Matt made sure we arrived at Old Faithful with perfect timing to witness its incredible eruption, and we explored breathtaking hot springs, colorful thermal pools, mud pots, and geysers throughout the day. The thoughtful extras—including snacks, coffee, hot cocoa, cider, and delicious sandwiches—made an already fantastic experience even better. Our wildlife guide, Matt, was exceptional. His knowledge of the area, attention to detail, and genuine passion for Yellowstone made the tour truly memorable. More importantly, he made sure every guest was well cared for and treated like family. Ironically, Matt had also been our guide the day before on our Grand Teton National Park tour. We were so impressed with him that we called the office afterward and specifically requested him for our Yellowstone tour. That speaks volumes about the outstanding service he provides. If you’re considering a tour with Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris, don’t hesitate—you won’t regret it. And if you have the opportunity, be sure to request Matt. He truly made an incredible experience unforgettable!
Thank you Kathy! We're very glad to hear that you had a fantastic experience on your tour of Yellowstone with Matt. We appreciate your recommendation!
We got the luck of the draw. ended up being the inly couple scheduled that day AND had Austin as our guide. great pace and learned so much. he was bery tunes in to what we wanted and disnt want. saw a grizzly, moose, Bison and other wildlife and learned so much more about Yellowstone.
Thank you Katie! We're so happy to hear that you had an amazing experience on your tour of Yellowstone with Austin.
This tour was great! Casey did a great job explaining things and you could tell he has a great love for Yellowstone and nature in general. Casey listed stops we would make and checked in with us to see if there was anything that we specifically wanted to see . He had great snacks for us. The lunch was exceptional! We would do it again! Don’t hesitate! You should book this tour!
Thank you Jamie! We're happy to hear that you had a great experience on your tour of Yellowstone with Casey. We appreciate your recommendation!
Jeffrey was excellent, gave us a lot of information about Yellowstone Park. He made sure we were on time to see Old Faithful shoot up. Always considerate and made sure we had plenty of stops at clean restrooms.. Lunch is great.
Thank you David! We're so glad that you had a great time on your tour of Yellowstone with Jeffrey. We appreciate your recommendation!
While this company has great reviews, the company fell very short of items we were told we would receive. The paper work said breakfast , lunch and cold and hot beverages. Breakfast was only a muffin. We had a GF person and the company said they would provide breakfast, they never communicated that the breakfast was only a muffin and did not have an option for our gluten free person. The lunches and snacks were good. For an all day tour , the only cold drink was 1 bottle of water each , that they would then refill with tap water. Our guide was great and was personable and knowledgeable, and accommodating to what we wanted to see. The company fell short . Tips if you book them eat breakfast ahead of time and bring your own coffee or tea, and other cold drinks if you want something other that tap water. For what we paid we expected better.
I would like to share my experience about my booking with VIATOR. I booked a trip with them to visit the Yellowstone National Park in late October 2025 from Bozeman with my husband. Viator linked us up with a land tour company called Conquering the Yellowstone and I was in contact with two of the operators there, a David Cai and a Jessie Cai. I emailed David to ask him some info about the government shutdown in the US (in early OCtober 2025). He started talking about the weather and the snow and made it sound absolutely terrible if we were to insist on going. I tried to tell him that my husband and I are used to cold weather. He even went so far as to say he would get us a FULL REFUND if we were to cancel our trip. I argued that all my work arrangements had been made and my husband and I had taken leave, I had booked my air tickets from Singapore (where we live) to san francisco. We had even booked our tickets from SF to Bozeman. we had even booked our hotel in SF. And then from Bozeman we planned to take the land tour from Bozeman into the Yellowstone NP. Everything was already planned. David would either email me or text me to say how awful the conditions were in the mountains and that they were made worse with the govenment shutdown because nobody was there to clean the toilets or to shovel the snow. Unfortunatlely I was so affected by all the negativity that we cancelled our trip, on the understanding that as he said, he guarantees the full refund. Not just that, he said if we book in future, he would ensure we get a discount. So sadly, we cancelled our trip. It was more troublesome cancelling all the arrangements we had made, then it was, making them. To my shock and disgust, I received a refund from Viator which was NOT A FULL REFUND AT ALL. IT WAS SHORT OF USD$184.25. I sent David this email "I received the email below on 19 October 2025 to say that a refund of USD2198.00 had been processed and sent back to my credit card ending in 0951. Is this my purchase with the ref no 7465375278000440550129? This is the number reflected in my UOB visa credit card bill. Apparently I had paid USD2930.07 for this tour (the two day one night Yellowstone land tour) However for the refund of USD 2745.82 the ref no is as follows: 74657375292002373560028. ARE THE TWO REF NO POINTING TO THE SAME TOUR? Hey I thought in one of your emails/texts you said that I would get A FULL REFUND? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DIFFERENCE OF USD 184.25???? LOL THIS DEFINITELY IS NOT A FULL REFUND RIGHT? HAHAHAHA FRANKLY I WAS VERY VERY VERY VERY UNWILLING TO CANCEL THE TOUR, I DID TELL MY HUSBAND THAT. BUT I KEPT GETTING VERY VERY NEGATIVE VIEWS ABOUT GOING, SO IN THE END, WE RELUCTANTLY CANCELLED. THIS WAS ALSO BASED ON THE BELIEF THAT I WOULD GET BACK THE FULL REFUND, WHICH IS WHAT YOU HAD SAID IN YOUR EMAIL(S). CAN YOU HELP TO CHECK WITH YOUR OFFICE AS TO WHAT HAPPENED TO THE USD184.25" I sent David the above email. To my utter anger and disgust, he said he did received $0.00 and asked me to follow up with Viator. He happily washed his hands. He happily give me a string of phone numbers to call Viator knowing that I can't, because I am in Singapore. He should have given me the email address of Viator! Is this the type of company Viator is? And do they appoint small operators like David Cai who give unwarranted negative "advice" and misrepresentations about refunds? Disgusted, Mona
I'm sorry you had such a bad experience, but your review was for Conquering the Yellowstone, which is not us. Please remove this review and post with the correct company.
On our second tour, we did the Best of Yellowstone tour with our guide Aiden who not only is a great photographer but also the most knowledgeable everything about Yellowstone’s landscape and wildlife. We saw lots of bisons, elk, bears and cayote, with a bonus picnic by the lake. We would not have had a full Yellowstone experience without Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris.
Thank you Grace! We're so happy to hear that you had a wonderful experience on your tour of Yellowstone with Aidan. We appreciate your recommendation!
Overall I'd say it was a good day with Scott at Yellowstone. It was a perfect fall day and the colors were brilliant! We saw the sights in the Lower Loop and we were all very happy that he was doing the driving. We liked driving thru the Tetons when the sun was rising along the way and Scott explained some things here too. Given the amount paid for this tour there's a couple improvements that would make this a better experience: 1. We spent about 3 hours driving around searching for animals we never found..this is not a wildlife tour, its a 'best of ' tour, and the time could have been better used to visit some other site--for example Grand Prismatic Spring- or even something in the upper loop. 2. This is the quietest tour I've ever been on..No one spoke much throughout the journey- and not at all for the last three hours while we were searching for those animals (not even Scott) by the time we got back to our drop-off point, we wanted to run away from that van as fast as we could!! Please consider: A- ending the tour earlier or B- adding another site visit or two.. especially this time of year when its not so busy in the park
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the beauty of Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, and that Scott’s driving and knowledge helped you make the most of your day in the parks. That said, we’re truly sorry to hear that parts of the experience fell short of expectations. The energy and engagement of our guides are a cornerstone of what makes a Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris tour special, and it’s disappointing to hear that wasn’t reflected throughout your day. We’ll be addressing this feedback directly with our team to ensure our guides maintain the high level of enthusiasm, communication, and service we’re known for. Regarding the tour pacing and focus, our full-day Yellowstone Tour is designed as our version of a “best of” experience, balancing major highlights with opportunities for wildlife viewing along the way. For guests seeking a more customized itinerary or a stronger focus on specific interests, such as photography, geology, or wildlife behavior, we always recommend booking a private tour, which allows for a fully tailored experience. We sincerely appreciate your comments and will use them to continue improving our guest experience. Thank you again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back for a tour that exceeds expectations in every way!
Our guide Jeff was so knowledgeable and made the trip amazing. There was nothing he couldn’t fill is in on! If you like language he has the most amazing command of the English language! Luckily we saw a grizzly bear to top off a fantastic day in the park!
Thank you for your review! We're happy to hear that you had a great time on your tour of Yellowstone with Jeff. We appreciate your recommendation!
